Trip to Mar Del Plata, Argentina
Day 1: Arrival and Acclimation
Welcome to Mar Del Plata! After checking into your hotel, you can spend the afternoon exploring the city and getting to know your surroundings. You may want to walk along “La Rambla,” Mar Del Plata’s famous coastal boardwalk and people-watching along the beaches. We recommend grabbing an empanada and a Quilmes beer to reflect on your trip and wind down after a day of travel.
Day 2: City Tour and Shopping
Today’s private tour will take you through Mar Del Plata’s most important landmarks such as the Torreón del Monje, the Faro de Mar del Plata, and the Plaza del Agua. The guide will tell you about the history of the city and will also help you get acquainted with some of the famous locals. For lunch, we recommend visiting the Guemes Commercial Gallery, where you can have a taste of the traditional Argentinean “milanesa” sandwich. After lunch, you’ll have the rest of the day to relax or engage in a little shopping at the trendy Guemes shopping district or the Paseo Aldrey mall where you can find local and international brands and an array of restaurants for dinner.
Day 3: Mar del Plata’s Beach Towns
Today you’ll enjoy a full-day scenic tour of Mar Del Plata’s beautiful coastal beach towns. The tour includes Aguas Verdes, Mar de las Pampas, and Villa Gesell, which are famous for their golden sand beaches, crystal-clear waters, and Mediterranean style influenced architecture design. This will give you a chance to see the rural side of the Argentinean coast and to unwind for a day.
Day 4: Golfing and Horse Riding
Now that you’ve had a chance to explore and relax, it’s time to be adventurous! Today, you’ll spend a day playing some golf at the 18-hole Mar del Plata golf course. Rest of the day will be spent horse-riding in the Argentinean pampas surrounded by the iconic livestock and plants of the region. You will be served a traditional Argentinean lunch with a tasty grill “parrillada,” where you can savor the richness of Argentine Cuisine.
Day 5: Aquarium and Fish Market
Today, visit the Mar Del Plata Aquarium, which is home to a stunning display of ocean life, featuring penguins, seals, dolphins and more. The aquarium offers activities not just restricted to viewing, such as dolphin and seal shows that allow direct contact with the animals. Opt to have lunch surrounded by sea lions at Isabel Beach Restaurant, or visit the fishing dock to experience the daily hustle and bustle of the local fish market, which opens daily at approximately 10am.
Day 6: Sierra de los Padres
Today, visit Sierra de los Padres, a beautiful mountain town just one hour from downtown Mar del Plata, where you can enjoy a scenic view of the countryside. Top attractions in Sierra de los Padres include the Monte Aconcagua Natural Reserve, where wildlife like eagles can be experienced at a much closer level and the Sierra Adventure Sports Circuit. For lunch, we recommend visiting an old-fashioned, classic “parrilla” or grill for a perfect salmon or beef steak with the famous Argentinean Malbec wine.

If your flight departs in the evening, take advantage of the day to explore more sights or have an adventure of your choice before reaching the airport.
