Day 1: Arrival and Exploring Sylhet
Begin your first day by arriving in Sylhet and checking into your hotel. After getting settled in, head out to explore the city. Stroll through the bustling streets and take in the sights and sounds of the vibrant markets and shops that line the roads. You’ll find plenty of unique and charming shops that offer a variety of goods, from handmade crafts to locally harvested tea. Pay a visit to the Shrine of Hazrat Shah Jalal, one of the most revered Islamic sites in Bangladesh. This historic site is home to one of the country’s most famous Sufi saints, and the mosque has been beautifully adorned with intricate mosaics and carvings over the centuries.
Day 2: The Natural Wonders of Sylhet
Enjoy a day of exploring the natural wonders of Sylhet. Start with a visit to the Lawachara National Park, a nature reserve that’s home to an array of exotic flora and fauna, including the rare Hoolock gibbon. Walk through the lush green forests and be amazed by the stunning waterfall at Madhabpur Lake. Take a boat ride across the lake, or, if you’re feeling adventurous, try your hand at zip-lining through the treetops.
Day 3: Tea Gardens and Countryside Charm
Embark on a journey outside of Sylhet to visit the beautiful tea gardens. The area surrounding the city is renowned for its tea production, and there are many tea gardens to visit, all offering beautiful views and a chance to observe the tea-picking process. Continue your journey through the beautiful countryside, visiting the scenic Jaflong village and its famous stone quarries. Experience the local village life, marvel at the stunning vistas and capture some amazing photos along the way.
Day 4: Heritage Sites and Museums
Today, visit must-see historical sites such as the Shrine of Hazrat Shah Paran and the Tamabil-Jaflong border area, which offers spectacular views of the Indian hills. You can also visit the Lalakhal area, famous for its emerald-green river. In the afternoon, head to the Osmani Museum which is dedicated to one of the greatest leaders of the Bangladesh Independence Movement. The museum displays a large collection of Osmani’s personal items, photographs, and archives.
Day 5: Sunamganj and Wetlands
Visit Sunamganj, a picturesque town surrounded by wetlands and lush green fields. Take a boat ride through the Tanguar Haor Wetland Sanctuary, home to many species of fish, birds, and animals. Visit the Sri Chaitanya Dev temple an ancient Hindu site with rich history and architecture. In the evening, head back to Sylhet for some night-time dining at the city’s famous restaurants.
Day 6: The Sylhet City Tour
Today, take in the city’s landmarks and busy streets, visiting the Shahi Eidgah and the vibrant Mcleod road. Continue to the Keane Bridge, a century-old suspension footbridge that connects two of Sylhet’s busiest neighborhoods. Explore the Ali Amjad Clock Tower, a stunning landmark, and take in the fantastic views of the surrounding area.
Day 7: Departure
On your final day in Sylhet, take some time to explore the local shops for souvenirs or relax at your hotel before checking out and heading home. If time permits, you can also visit the Sylhet Osmani International Airport Mosque, one of the most unique mosques in the world, before departing for your journey home.
