Day 1: Arrival and Exploration
Whether you arrive at the Mahilyow Train Station or Mahilyow Airport, a private transfer will take you to your hotel. Check-in and take some time to relax after your journey. After that, walk around the city and explore its attractions. Start at the centrally located Independence Square, with the city’s symbolic belfry and monument to Lenin. Then stroll through the Mahilyow’s old town, visiting the Cathedral of the Virgin Mary and the Diocese Museum, which houses an art and treasure collection. Later in the evening, head to the city’s downtown nightlife district, where you can enjoy some live music, food and drinks.
Day 2: Cultural and Natural Sights of Mahilyow
Today, you should start your sightseeing tour with the majestic Mahilyow Drama Theater, which is located in the nearby Park of Culture and Rest. Later in the day, head to Park Dubrava, which is famous for its stunning panoramic views of the river and Mahilyow’s forested surroundings. You can walk or cycle along its paths, try outdoor fitness equipment or simply take a picnic. In the evening, take in a show at the Mahilyow Drama Theater or simply enjoy the nightlife with a drink at one of the many bars or clubs.
Day 3: History and Art
Mahilyow has a rich cultural and artistic heritage, so today we will recommend visiting the Mahilyow Regional Art Museum, where you can see a great collection of works of art from different periods. Spend the rest of the day exploring some of the city’s historical landmarks, such as the 18th-century Synagogue, the National Historical Museum of Mahilyow Region, and the Museum of Local Lore, all located in the heart of the city.
Day 4: Great Patriotic War Museum and Sarashka Forest
Start the day by taking a taxi to the Museum of the Great Patriotic War, which is dedicated to the historical events of World War II. The museum exhibits many artifacts such as documents, weapons, and personal belongings of soldiers who fought during the war. After the museum, head to Sarashka forest, which is located at the outskirts of Mahilyow. There, you can take a peaceful walk through the beautiful landscape, enjoying a picnic lunch and reveling in the tranquility.
Day 5: Ryazanov’s Terrace and Shopping
Ryazanov’s Terrace is a beautiful structure on the banks of the Dnieper River. Here you will be able to enjoy a magnificent view of the water and have a great photo opportunity, so don’t forget your camera. Spend the latter half of the day shopping, with options ranging from the Central Market and Fashion Park to a variety of souvenir shops. It’s possible to find textiles, pottery, handicrafts, and traditional dress.
Day 6: Mahilyow Zoo and Botanical Garden
Start at the zoo, which is the largest in the country and home to over 200 different species of animals, including rare and endangered species. Afterward, visit the Botanical Garden, which is a vast area consisting of various plant species, including rare species of orchids and cacti, as well as many beautiful landscapes and fountains. Spend the evening having a leisurely dinner at one of the city’s restaurants, enjoying the excellent food and wine.
Day 7: Departure
Today is your final day in Mahilyow, and you may have some free time before your departure. You may visit any sites you missed or spend some relaxing time at your hotel. After packing, check out of your hotel and head to the airport or train station for your departure journey.
