Trip to Fortaleza, Brazil
Day 1: Arrival and Relaxation
Once you arrive at Pinto Martins International Airport in Fortaleza, we recommend taking a drive to your hotel to check-in and relax. Fortaleza has some fantastic hotels and resorts to choose from, with many offering stunning views of the beautiful coastline. After check-in, take the first day to relax and enjoy the gorgeous beach, or take a dip in the hotel pool.
Day 2: Fortaleza City Tour
Your second day in Fortaleza should begin with a city tour. One great activity is a visit to the Centro de Turismo, which used to be a prison! Now it’s a beautifully restored marketplace where you can find local crafts, traditional food, and music performances. From there, you can visit to the Metropolitan Cathedral of Fortaleza, or head over to the Dragão do Mar Center of Art and Culture, an amazing space filled with museums, theaters, and galleries. Don’t forget to take a stroll along the long, famous Praia do Futuro beach.
Day 3: Beach Day at Morro Branco & Praia das Fontes
Today, you will head to Morro Branco and Praia das Fontes, which both offer astoundingly clear waters and an incredible coastline to relax and enjoy the beauty of Fortaleza. Morro Branco is known for its cliffs, where visitors are able to experience first hand the impressive rock formations and the beautiful beach beaches that are nearby. In Praia das Fontes, you will find a plethora of small natural freshwater pools characterized by the contrast between their green tones found widely with the bright blue sky and deep blue sea.
Day 4: Cumbuco Beach Kitesurfing
Another day, another beach. And Cumbuco Beach is a must-visit location for those interested in water activities. This breathtaking beach is surrounded by immense dunes and is the perfect spot to partake in kitesurfing. With natural factors such as steady winds and calm waters, Cumbuco is the ideal location for both beginners and intermediate kiteboarders.
Day 5: Brazilian Cultural Tour
Today, you’ll take a cultural tour of Brazil. Begin by visiting the historic downtown district to admire the 18th-century architecture of buildings such as the São Pedro Church, The Palace of Light and the Central Market, where you can sample a wide variety of traditional Brazilian foods. Following that will be a trip to the José De Alencar Theater, built in the 19th century and inspired by the neoclassical style, which later became the first theater to have a modern air conditioning system.
Day 6: Park of Coco
For those interested in beautiful nature and green spaces, visiting the Parque do Coco is a must. This park is Fortaleza’s largest green space and is home to various plant species, lagoons and other interesting features, such as an artificial climbing wall, bicycle rental service, and children’s playground.
Day 7: Departure
On the last day of your trip, you should spend some time enjoying the city and then head to the airport for departure. If time allows check out the local area/souvenir shopping is also a great way to end your trip and pick up some last minute souvenirs.
