Day 1: Arrival

Welcome to Sao Paulo! Upon arrival at the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. After checking in, you can either take some rest or start exploring the city. A great way to get acquainted with Sao Paulo is through a free walking tour that takes you through the historical center. This area is home to many important landmarks, like the São Paulo Cathedral and the Municipal Theatre. At night, head to Rua Augusta, a street that is home to several bars and clubs for a taste of Sao Paulo’s nightlife.

Day 2: Museums and Art

Start your day at the São Paulo Museum of Art (MASP). The museum is home to over 8,000 pieces of art, including works by Van Gogh, Renoir, and Monet. The building itself is also an architectural gem, resting on a series of red pillars over a plaza. After MASP, visit the nearby Japan House, a cultural center that showcases Japanese art and technology. Round out your day with a visit to the Pinacoteca do Estado, a museum that features works by Brazilian artists.

Day 3: Market & Food Tour

No visit to Sao Paulo is complete without visiting the Mercado Municipal, a covered market that sells a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats. Spend your morning tasting the many foods and drinks available, including the famous mortadella sandwich. In the afternoon, embark on a food tour of the city. You can sample Brazilian classics like feijoada, a stew made with black beans and pork. In the evening, head to Vila Madalena, a bohemian neighborhood that has some of the best bars and restaurants in the city.

Day 4: Parks and Gardens

Start your day by visiting Parque Ibirapuera, a large public park that has several museums, playgrounds, and trails. Just a short walk away is the São Paulo Botanical Gardens, a garden that has over 360,000 plants and is famous for its orchid collection. End the day with a visit to the Municipal Market of Santo Amaro where you can try some exotic fruits and vegetables.

Day 5: Shopping

Get ready for some serious shopping at Rua Oscar Freire, a street that has numerous designer stores and boutiques. If you are looking for bargains, head to the Brás district, known for its street markets and for being a clothing manufacturing hub. In the evening, relax at a rooftop bar to take in the skyline view.

Day 6: Football and Samba

Spend your day exploring two of Brazil’s most iconic cultural hallmarks: football and samba. Start your day by visiting the Football Museum, which is home to many exhibits related to the sport’s history in Brazil. Afterward, take a samba class at Casa de Dança Carlinhos de Jesus, where you can learn the basics of this fun dance. In the evening, head to a samba club to enjoy the beats and dance the night away.

Day 7: Departure

Sadly, today is the day you’ll be departing from Sao Paulo. Depending on your flight, you can use this day to visit any last minute places you might have missed or simply relax and pack your bags.
