Day 1: Arrival and Relaxation
Welcome to Phnom Penh, Cambodia! Upon your arrival at the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. After check-in, you can spend the rest of the day relaxing and exploring the hotel’s facilities. Day 2: Discovering the City
Start your day with a delicious breakfast at your hotel, after which you will be escorted for a tour of the city. Your first stop will be the Royal Palace, which was built in the 19th century by King Norodom. It has a breathtaking architecture that comprises Khmer and European styles, which is sure to leave you in awe. After lunch, you will visit the National Museum of Cambodia, which is dedicated to the history of the Khmer Empire and has over 14,000 artifacts on display. In the evening, we recommend that you visit the bustling night markets of Phnom Penh, where you can shop for souvenirs, clothes, and jewelry.
Day 3: Choeung Ek and S-21
Prepare yourself for an emotional day as we visit the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek, which is a site of genocide where thousands of Cambodians were executed by the Khmer Rouge regime. After this sobering visit, we will take a short ride to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S-21), which was originally a school but later converted into a security prison by the Khmer Rouge. It is now a museum and a testament to the atrocities committed by the regime.
Day 4: Mekong River and Temples
Today, you will embark on a boat ride to the nearby island of Koh Dach, which is known for its traditional silk weaving. You can witness the process of creating silk products and buy souvenirs as well. Afterward, you will visit Wat Ounalom, which is the headquarters of Cambodian Buddhism and a significant pilgrimage site. A picnic lunch will be arranged on the banks of Mekong river, after which we will visit Wat Phnom, a Buddhist temple with a fascinating history that dates back to the 14th century.
Day 5: Relaxation and Shopping
Today, you can spend the day at leisure, relaxing at the hotel or indulging in a traditional Khmer massage. You may also explore the charming streets and boulevards of Phnom Penh for handicrafts and souvenirs. In the evening, we will recommend that you visit the famous Russian Market, which offers a vast range of products such as silk clothing, textiles, jewelry, handicrafts, and more.
Day 6: Cooking Class and Local Markets
Get ready to experience the flavors of Cambodia as we take you for a cooking class where you can learn to prepare Khmer food and experience the local way of life. Afterward, we will visit the Central Market, which is the most prominent local market in Phnom Penh, and sells everything from fresh produce to electronics. You can also visit the nearby Daughters Cafe, which is a social enterprise that provides traineeships and jobs to survivors of human trafficking.
Day 7: Departure
Your unforgettable trip to Cambodia ends today. After breakfast, you can spend the morning at leisure, or do some last-minute shopping. Later, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
