Trip to Sihanoukville, Cambodia

Day 1: Arrival and Beach Relaxation

Upon arrival at the Sihanouk International airport, you will be transported to your hotel to relax and acclimate yourself to the surroundings. Sihanoukville’s highlights are its beaches. With over 10 public and privately owned beaches to choose from, picking the right one for you is a must-do. You will want to visit Ochheuteal beach and Sokha beach for their crystal clear waters perfect for swimming or lazing. If you are looking for a bustling party vibe, Serendipity beach is close to bars, nightclubs, and restaurants with live music.

Day 2: Boat trip and Koh Rong Island

Spend a full day on Koh Rong Island, which is just a short boat trip from Sihanoukville. This tropical paradise is perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and snorkeling. The blue-turquoise waters are crystal clear, and if you go early enough, you can enjoy the quiet nature of the island. There are several bungalows you can rent if you wish to stay overnight, but if you’re only going for the day, don’t forget to pack sunscreen and beachwear.

Day 3: Diving and Snorkeling

Sihanoukville is known for its diving and snorkeling experiences. You will want to visit the Koh Rong Dive Center for the full diving experience, or the Island Speed Boat Cambodia for snorkeling. Koh Rong Island is famous for its marine life, such as stingrays and reef sharks.

Day 4: Wat Leu and Kbal Chhay Waterfall

Visit the Wat Leu temple complex, which dates back to the early 20th century. This temple is unique because of its red and white colors, detailing the intricate Buddhist motifs. Afterward, head over to the Kbal Chhay Waterfall for a refreshing break from the hot weather. You can swim in the natural pools beneath the falls or simply admire the beautiful scenery.

Day 5: Ream National Park

Ream National Park is located just outside Sihanoukville, and it’s a great place to explore the Cambodian wildlife. You can easily take a day-trip with your local tour guide or book a private tour for a more personal experience. During the day, you will explore the mangrove forests and spot a variety of bird species such as the Great Slaty Woodpecker. You can also spend time kayaking and walking along the pristine river banks.

Day 6: Otres Market and Pub Street

If you are interested in a bit of shopping and local culture, visit the Otres Market. The market sells a wide range of goods, from stylish clothing and accessories to art and souvenirs. After this, visit Pub Street, which is the primary nightlife district in Sihanoukville. It features bars, dance clubs, and locally owned restaurants.

Day 7: Departure

You will check out of your hotel and be transferred to the airport for your flight back home. Spend the morning relaxing before leaving the town and reflecting on the many memories you’ve made.
