Trip to Toronto, Canada
Day 1: Exploring Downtown Toronto
Welcome to Toronto! On your first day, what better way to start your trip than by taking a walking tour around Downtown Toronto? You can start with the iconic CN Tower which offers a stunning view of the city from above. You can also stroll through the Kensington Market, which has some trendy shops, street art, and great food. Afterward, you can walk around the beautiful Toronto island and enjoy a picnic or rent a bike before experiencing a bit of nightlife. For dinner, you could feast on some delicious seafood at the Oyster Tavern or drink in some amazing views at the drinks at the Lavelle.
Day 2: Art, History, and Delicious Food
For your second day in Toronto, I suggest starting at the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO). This is Canada’s biggest art gallery with more than 90,000 works of art. Afterward, you can visit the Royal Ontario Museum, which has multiple exhibits that celebrate Canada’s history and culture. You can also mosey on down to the Distillery District, which is known for its red brick buildings and cobblestone streets. It’s a great spot for a bite to eat and even better for sampling some of Toronto’s finest brews.
Day 3: Touring Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls is just a short drive from downtown Toronto, so on your third day, I suggest taking a day trip to see the beautiful waterfall up close. Admire the stunning natural scenery, take a boat tour, and experience the mighty power of the falls. If you’re a wine buff, you could visit one of the many wineries in the region, which offer some of the top Canadian wines. Certainly a day to remember.
Day 4: Toronto’s Beaches
On your fourth day in Toronto, take in some sun and surf at the amazing beaches around Queen East. Beginning with the Woodbine Beach, which is the most popular beach and the perfect spot to catch the sun or enjoy a picnic with friends. You could also stroll the boardwalk or do some indoor shopping at the Beach Village, which has some fantastic boutiques and quaint antique shops. In the evening, you could dine on exquisite Canadian cuisine like the fresh fish tacos and creamy clam chowder at the The Beach House or The Stone Lion.
Day 5: Exploring the West End
Today, you can explore the diverse neighbourhoods of West End, starting with the iconic graffiti alley at Queen West. This is the place to take striking Instagram photos with some of the city’s vibrant art. You could also visit the High Park, which is a big city park in the West End. In the afternoon, I suggest visiting the Bata Shoe Museum, which has a vast collection of historical and modern, cultural, and social significant children’s adult shoes. You can cap off the day by enjoying some live music or stand-up comedy at the Comedy Bar.
Day 6: Dine and Shop
Dedicate the day to shopping and dining on your sixth day in Toronto. Starting at the Kensington Market, which offers some of the city’s best vintage shops and great food. You can also visit the St. Lawrence Market, which has numerous food vendors offering a vast variety of specialty foods, from cheeses, meats to chocolates, amongst lots more. For art enthusiasts, visit the Queen Street West, which is lined up with numerous galleries offering contemporary art that is worth admiring. In the evening, dine and drink at some of the city’s popular restaurants and bars, like Terroni or The Drake Hotel.
Day 7: History and Nature Walks
On your last day in Toronto, visit the Casa Loma, which is Toronto’s only castle that features authentic period architecture and decor. The castle offers great views of the city and is an iconic tourist site. You could also take a leisurely walk through the Toronto Botanical Garden, which has many ornamental gardens and offers a calming and relaxing environment. Finally, visit the Scarborough Bluffs, which offers a remarkable view of the city’s skyline and towering cliffs that resemble natural cathedrals.## Trip Costs The estimated cost for the whole trip including accommodations, sightseeing, shopping, and dining for 7 days will be around mid to high end budget.
