Day 1: Arrival in Easter Island
You will arrive on Easter Island today where you will be greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel. After checking in and freshening up, you can spend the rest of the day exploring the local area on foot. You can visit the local markets and shops, and pick up some souvenirs to remind you of your trip. As the sun sets, you can enjoy the first of many incredible views on the island at one of the local bars or restaurants.
Day 2: Exploring the Moai Statues
After breakfast, your guide will meet you at your hotel and take you on an exciting tour of the ancient Moai statues. You will visit Ahu Tongariki, which is the largest ceremonial platform on Easter Island, and Ahu Akivi, where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset. You will learn about the history and mythology behind these impressive stone statues, and discover the secrets of the Rapa Nui culture.
Day 3: Adventure in Rano Kau
Today you will take a hike up to Rano Kau, a now dormant volcano that is the largest crater on Easter Island. Here you will be able to enjoy panoramic views over the entire island and marvel at the vibrant green landscape. In the afternoon, you will take a guided snorkelling tour, where you will get up close with the island’s diverse marine life such as tropical fish, sea turtles, and even the occasional reef shark.
Day 4: Exploring Orongo Village
Today you will visit the Orongo village, which is the site of the Birdman Competition, one of the most fascinating and unique cultural practices in the world. After a short climb up to the ceremonial village, you will see the remains of the unique stone houses and learn about the people who lived there. Your guide will provide an in-depth narration of Rapa Nui history, mythology and culture, giving you a deeper understanding of this tiny-but-powerful island.
Day 5: Biking to Anakena Beach
Today you will take an exciting biking tour of the island and visit one of the most famous beaches, Anakena Beach. You will pass through charming villages and enjoy picturesque views on this nature filled adventure, and finally reach a unique sandy beach with warm turquoise waters, making this beach one of the most popular on Easter Island. Here, you can relax on the sand and soak up the sun, or explore the crystal clear waters with some snorkeling.
Day 6: Day at leisure
Today is all about relaxation and taking some time to unwind. Spend the day lounging by the hotel pool, reading a book and soaking up the sun. Rent a car and explore around the island at your leisure, or take a leisurely hike along the coast and take in the stunning coastline views. Relax and unwind before you head back home tomorrow.
Day 7: Departure
Sadly, today marks the end of your trip to Easter Island, Chile. You will be transferred back to the airport for your flight home, or your onward journey. We hope you had an incredible time and enjoyed exploring the beauty of this tiny yet stunning island in the Pacific Ocean.
