Day 1: Arrival and Relaxation

Day 3: Trip to Isla Damas

Today, take a boat ride to Isla Damas, a small island located about 20km southwest of La Serena. The island is a nature reserve and home to seabirds, sea lions, and penguins. Observe the wildlife from the boat or, if the conditions allow, get off and experience the island for yourself. The beaches are pristine and the water is clear, making it an ideal location for snorkeling, swimming, and other ocean activities. After your adventure, return to La Serena for a little bit of shopping. Check out the galleries and markets for unique and beautiful pieces of art or souvenirs to take back home.

Day 4: Enjoy the Beaches

Day 5: Visit The Archaeological Museum

Here you will find information about the city’s indigenous people, the Diaguita culture, and its various pre-hispanic artifacts. The building itself is also of interest - it is a restored colonial-era house with beautiful patios and gardens. After the museum, take a relaxing stroll around town and explore the local shops.

Day 6: Day Trip to Valle del Encanto

Take a day trip to the Valle del Encanto (Enchanted Valley), approximately 50 kilometers from La Serena. Here you will find various Diaguita stone constructions, petroglyphs, and hieroglyphs with engravings and symbols depicting the cosmos worshiped by those who inhabited the area in the past. It’s a beautiful place full of desert landscapes and is a must-visit location for anyone interested in archaeology. Return to La Serena in the evening.

Day 7: Departure

Today, check out of your accommodation and prepare for departure. If your flight leaves later in the day, make the most of your remaining time in La Serena by walking through the city and trying out any restaurants or activities that you may have missed. Head to the airport or your chosen mode of transportation and say goodbye to the beautiful city of La Serena.
