Day 1: Arrival and evening boat tour

The memorial hall has a museum that contains exhibitions about Sun Yat-sen’s life and the history of the Chinese revolution. Next, head to the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, a stunning example of traditional Cantonese architecture from the late 19th century. Here, you’ll find exquisite woodcarvings, stone carvings, and colorful ceramic figures that depict traditional Cantonese culture. End your day by exploring the famous Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street, where you can discover countless shops offering everything from traditional Chinese souvenirs to modern fashion.

Day 3: Discover Guangzhou’s modern attractions

Today, head to the Canton Tower, which is one of the highest towers in the world, standing at 600 meters tall. It offers a magnificent view of the city, including the nearby Pearl River and Baiyun Mountain. After that, you can head to the Chimelong Safari Park, which is one of the largest wild animal parks in Asia. Here, you can see over 20,000 animals from 500 species, including giant pandas, koalas, and white tigers. End your day by having dinner at “The Place”, a modern outdoor mall that is home to an array of restaurants and bars.

Day 4: Traditional markets and historical landmarks

Today, head out to explore some of Guangzhou’s most famous outdoor markets. Start by visiting the Qingping Market, which is the oldest and largest traditional market in Guangzhou. Here, you’ll find a wide selection of fresh seafood, exotic fruits, and traditional Chinese medicine ingredients. Next, check out the nearby Sacred Heart Cathedral, which is the largest Catholic Church in Guangzhou. End your day by visiting the Temple of the Six Banyan Trees, which was built in AD 537 and is one of the most ancient and famous Buddhist temples in China.

Day 5: Cantonese cuisine and city skyline

Today, start your day by taking a trip to the top of the Canton Tower in the morning, followed by lunch at one of the famous Cantonese dim sum restaurants to sample some of the region’s delicious cuisine. In the afternoon, head to the Canton Fair Complex, one of the largest exhibition centers in the world, where you can browse for anything from high-end electronics to textiles. End your day with a night time skyline view of Guangzhou by taking the APM line from Pazhou Station to Huacheng Square.

Day 6: Gardens and parks

Begin the day by exploring the peaceful Yuexiu Park, which is one of the biggest parks in Guangzhou. It features a lake, hiking trails, and an abundance of flora and fauna. Within the park, you can also visit the famous Five Ram Sculpture, which is one of the most iconic landmarks of Guangzhou. Afterwards, head to the stunning Baiyun Mountain, located just outside the city. Here you can take in the sight of natural scenery, such as lush forests, waterfalls, and streams.

Day 7: Goodbye Guangzhou

On your last day, take the opportunity to do any last minute shopping or sightseeing. Depending on your flight schedule, you can choose to visit the Guangzhou Museum or the Guangdong Museum to learn more about the history and culture of Guangzhou. Then, transfer to the airport to catch your flight back home with memories that will last a lifetime.
