Day 1: Arrival in Manizales
Welcome to Manizales! Upon arrival at the Matecaña International Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. After checking-in and freshening up, take a stroll around the center of the city and discover its unique architecture. Manizales is known for its distinctive style of buildings made of brick and bamboo. Grab a coffee at a local café and savor the rich flavor of Colombian coffee.
Day 2: Palo de Mango Birdwatching
Manizales has over 400 different bird species, making it an excellent spot for birdwatching. Today, you will visit the renowned Palo de Mango birdwatching site, where you can see species such as the Andean Condor, the Andean Cock-of-the-Rock, and the Toucan. This experience includes a guide to help you spot the birds and to provide more details about the birdlife in the region.
Day 3: Coffee Hacienda Tour
Colombia is famous for its coffee, and you can’t visit Manizales without taking a tour of one of the coffee haciendas in the region. Today, you will visit a local coffee farm where you’ll learn how coffee is grown and processed. You’ll also be able to taste some of the best coffee in the world.
Day 4: El Recinto Del Pensamiento Reserve
Today you will visit El Recinto Del Pensamiento, one of the most stunning nature reserves in the region. The reserve offers breathtaking views of the city and surrounding mountains. Here, you’ll hike through the reserve’s trails, explore the orchid gardens, and learn about the fauna and flora of the area.
Day 5: Shopping in Manizales
Today, you will spend the day discovering the city’s shops. Start with the Manizales Artisan Market, where you can find the perfect souvenirs to take back home. Next, head to Sancancio Mall, one of the largest malls in the city, where you’ll find a variety of traditional and modern shops.
Day 6: Manizales Nightlife
Experience Manizales nightlife tonight and discover the Colombian rhythmic beats. Head to Cable Plaza, an area known for nightlife, and visit one of the local bars, clubs or restaurants. Try some traditional Colombian food and drinks while enjoying the lively atmosphere.
Day 7: Departure
