Trip to Jaco, Costa Rica
Day 1: Arrival and Relaxation
Welcome to Jaco, Costa Rica! After you check in to your hotel or resort, I recommend spending your first day exploring the area and relaxing on the beach. Jaco beach is the perfect place to start your vacation as it is one of the most popular beaches in the area. The beach stretches for nearly three miles and offers plenty of sandy shorelines for sunbathing and swimming. If you fancy a bit of a change from the beach, there are many restaurants and bars located along this strip. You may also want to take advantage of the many shops and vendors selling souvenirs and local crafts.
Day 2: Manuel Antonio National Park
On day two, I recommend taking a trip to Manuel Antonio National Park. This beautiful park is located just south of Jaco and offers a variety of activities such as hiking, swimming and snorkeling. Over a thousand different types of plants and a wide array of wildlife can be found within the park, including monkeys, sloths and iguanas, so keep your camera at the ready! Also, be sure to take in the breathtaking panoramic views of the coastline while you explore.
Day 3: Zip-Lining
Adventure awaits on day three as we will fly through the lush Costa Rican jungle on a zip-lining tour. You’ll be able to observe the breathtaking views of exotic flowers and local wildlife while riding a series of long cables. Your guide would also give a brief ecological explanation of the surrounding forest. After you’ve worked up an appetite from the rides, head back to Jaco for dinner and drinks at one of the many local seafood restaurants.
Day 4: Relaxation
Take time to relax and unwind on day four by spending the morning on the beach. If you’re craving a change, I would recommend a massage at the local spa. This is the perfect opportunity to reenergize yourself for the remaining days of your trip.
Day 5: Crocodile Safari
Come aboard for a memorable river cruise that provides you with the opportunity to observe crocodiles in their natural habitat. You will witness the largest American crocodiles in the world; up to 20ft in length! Besides marveling at the crocodiles, the ride offers breathtaking scenery and a chance to spot exotic birds and monkeys.
Day 6: Tortuga Island Catamaran Tour
On Day 6, take a full day catamaran tour to Tortuga Island. Snorkel the clear waters, and explore the beach and enjoy a tasty BBQ style lunch. This island tour provides you with the perfect chance to experience the paradise-like atmosphere of Costa Rica.
Day 7: Departure
You will check out of your hotel or resort and travel back to San Jose International Airport to catch your return flight home.
