Trip to Camaguey, Cuba
Day 1: Arrival and Exploration
On your arrival day, settle into your accommodation and kick off your trip to Camaguey with a stroll around the historic city center. You’ll find breathtaking architecture in the Gothic-style cathedral such as Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Merced, and visit the birthplace of Ignacio Agramonte in the Casa Natal de Ignacio Agramonte Museum. Later that evening, enjoy a beer in one of the authentic Cuban bars in town, such as Casa de la Trova or Plaza del Gallo.
Day 2: Beach Day
Make your way to the stunning beach of Santa Lucía, where the crystal-clear waters and soft sandy beach combine with the beautiful landscape. You can even take a catamaran or glass-bottom boat to explore the nearby coral reefs and marine life. You can visit the Museum of Decorative Arts, Casa de la Diversidad Cultural, Casa de las Americas Museum, or the Provincial Museum. In the afternoon, watch an Afro-Cuban dance performance at a local theatre or visit some of the city’s art galleries, such as Galería Fidelio Ponce.
Day 5: Sugar Plantation and Cigar Making
Take a day trip to one of the local sugar plantations where you can see the production process and experience it firsthand. After the visit, learn how Cuban cigars are made from tobacco leaves to finished product, samples included (if smoking is your thing).
Day 6: Horse Carriage Tour and Casa de la Trova
Explore the city’s charm with a horse-drawn carriage ride through the picturesque streets of Camaguey. Witness the historic residences and colonial architecture up close. Later in the evening, visit the popular Casa de la Trova for an amazing live music performance of traditional Cuban music and salsa dance.
Day 7: Departure
