Trip to Cienfuegos, Cuba

Day 1: Arrival and City Sightseeing Tour

Upon your arrival at José Martí International Airport, you will be greeted by your guide who will take you on a walking city sightseeing tour of Havana, the capital of Cuba. On the tour, you will see some of the most beautiful colonial architecture in the Caribbean and learn about the history of Cuba. You will visit sights such as the Malecón, the Capitol Building, the Revolution Square, and the Christ of Havana. Lunch and dinner will be at a local restaurant serving traditional Cuban food.

Day 2: Trinidad City Tour

After breakfast, you will head to Trinidad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the best-preserved colonial town in Cuba. You will visit the main square, Plaza Mayor, and see the Museum of the Fight Against Bandits, which tells the story of the guerrilla fighters who fought against the Cuban government in the early 1960s. You will also explore the town’s cobblestone streets, colorful houses, and artisanal markets. Lunch and dinner will be at local restaurants.

Day 3: Cienfuegos City Tour

Today, you will explore your destination, Cienfuegos! The city is nicknamed the “Pearl of the South” due to its impressive neoclassical architecture and attractive parks. You will visit the Historic Center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, that houses the Tomás Terry Theater, which was built in 1890 and was one of the most important theaters in Cuba during the 19th century. You will also enjoy a tour of the Palacio de Valle, a beautiful and eclectic building. There will be an opportunity to taste the local cuisine at lunch and dinner.

Day 4: Bay of Pigs & Snorkeling

After an early breakfast, you will transfer to the Bay of Pigs for an exciting snorkeling experience. This picturesque bay is home to thousands of different species of marine life. After the snorkeling experience, you will visit the museum that tells the story of the invasion of Bay of Pigs. You will also stop for lunch on the way to Bay of Pigs and dinner on the way back to your hotel.

Day 5: Day of Leisure

This day is yours to relax and enjoy your hotel’s amenities or explore Cienfuegos at your own pace. You can visit local markets, shop for souvenirs or spend time on the beach.

Day 6: El Nicho Waterfalls Tour

After breakfast, head to El Nicho Waterfalls. This is an excellent opportunity to enjoy nature and incredible landscapes. You will hike along a beautiful trail, passing through lush greenery and natural swimming pools. You will also have time to relax, swim and enjoy your surroundings. Lunch and dinner will be at a local restaurant.

Day 7: Departure

Unfortunately, it’s time to head back home. Your guide will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to José Martí International Airport in Havana in time for your flight back home.
