Trip to Trinidad, Cuba
Day 1: Arrival in Trinidad
On your first day, you will arrive in Santa Clara, Cuba and drive to Trinidad for a seven-day adventure. Check-in at your hotel, then take a walking tour of Trinidad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its beautiful colonial architecture and charming cobblestone streets. You will get a chance to visit the Plaza Mayor, one of the grandest squares in Cuba, and visit the historic sites like the Palacio Brunet, the Iglesia Parroquial de la Santisima Trinidad, and the Museo Romantico.
Day 2: Explore Trinidad
Today, we recommend visiting the nearby Valle de Los Ingenios, which is known for its sugar plantation ruins and beautiful natural scenery. You will take a guided tour of the Manaca Iznaga Estate, which has an impressive watchtower that offers a stunning view of the valley. You will also get a chance to visit the Trinidad’s local market, where you can buy traditional Cuban handicrafts and souvenirs.
Day 3: Beach Day
Today, you will travel to the nearby beach area of Trinidad, Playa Ancon. This is a beautiful, secluded beach featuring crystal clear waters and soft, white sand. You can relax and swim on the beach or try out some of the beautiful snorkeling spots in the area. After a relaxing day at the beach, head to one of the local restaurants and try some local cuisine.
Day 4: Topes de Collantes
Today, take a day trip to Topes de Collantes, a picturesque park located high in the Sierra Madre Mountains. There are many beautiful hiking trails in the area that offer stunning views of the surrounding countryside. A popular hike is to Salto del Caburni, a beautiful waterfall that cascades into a natural swimming pool. There are also additional activities in the park such as birdwatching and horseback riding.
Day 5: Visit Cienfuegos
Today, take a day trip to Cienfuegos, a city located on the southern coast of Cuba. This city has a laid-back atmosphere and is known for its beautiful colonial architecture and its amazing seafood. You will visit Punta Gorda, home to the Club Cienfuegos and other stunning mansions, as well as the Palacio de Valle, a Moorish-style palace that is now a popular restaurant.
Day 6: Horseback Riding
Today, explore the scenic countryside around Trinidad on a horseback riding tour. You will ride through the beautiful countryside and visit local farms and countryside communities. This is a great way to learn about life in rural Cuba and enjoy some of the natural beauty of the island.
Day 7: Departure day
Today is your last day in Trinidad, so take some time to relax and enjoy the morning. Depending on your flight departure time, you may have time for additional sightseeing or shopping in Trinidad before departing for the airport in Santa Clara.
