Larnaca is a bustling city on the southern coast of Cyprus known for its beautiful beaches, rich history, and lively atmosphere. Visitors can explore the city's ancient ruins, enjoy fresh seafood at local restaurants, or simply relax on the beach and soak up the Mediterranean sun.
Day 1: Arrival and Sunset Coast Walk
Upon arrival at Larnaca International Airport, you will proceed to your hotel and check-in for a well-deserved rest. After settling in, a perfect way to start your holiday would be to take a stroll down the coast and witness a stunning sunset. Take in the beautiful views of the crystal clear waters and feel the cool breeze. There are plenty of restaurants on the coastline where you can grab a bite and have a drink to end the day.
Day 2: Explore the Historic City Centre
Today you will explore the old town, starting from the charming St. Lazarus Church, an Orthodox church dating back to the 9th century. The ancient Agora square, where you will find an array of shops and street vendors, is also worth visiting. Take the time to wander the city’s narrow streets and enjoy the colorful buildings. You can also visit the Larnaca Fort, originally built by the Ottomans, and today a popular tourist attraction.
Day 3: Day Trip to Nicosia
A short drive north of Larnaca lies Nicosia, the capital city, and the only divided capital in Europe. Explore the Old City surrounded by impressive Venetian walls, visit the iconic Liberty Monument or take a walk in the newly restored, lively Ledra St. Get a taste of Cypriot culture by visiting the Byzantine Museum or the Cyprus Museum.
Day 4: Beach Day in Ayia Napa
Ayia Napa is known for its stunning white sand beaches and turquoise waters. Rent a car or take a bus and enjoy a day in the sun and in the crystal-clear waters. The area is also home to some excellent restaurants where you can grab fresh seafood. If you want something more active, take a quad bike ride or a boat trip to explore the famous Cape Greco sea caves.
Day 5: Kamares Aqueduct and AHERA organic farm visit
Today you will visit the Kamares Aqueduct, one of the most significant historical structures in Cyprus. Built-in the 18th century, the aqueduct stretches over six miles and still provides water to the region. Nearby is the fascinating AHERA organic farm. You can tour the farm, sample the fresh produce and learn about traditional farming methods.
Day 6: Day Trip to Limassol
Take a day trip to Cyprus’s second-largest city, Limassol. You can visit the medieval Limassol castle, designed to protect the city from Ottomans invaders, or see the Kourion Archaeological Site, an ancient city that dates back to Roman times. The city also has plenty of restaurants and shops for you to explore.
Day 7: Departure Day
Today you will depart Larnaca and head back home, taking fond memories of the island with you.
