Day 1: Check-in and Visit Nyhavn
Once you arrive in Copenhagen, you’ll check-in at your hotel and freshen up before starting your trip. Frederiksborg Castle is a stunning Renaissance castle built in the early 17th-century, set on three islets on the Slotssø Lake, and surrounded by the stunning Baroque-style gardens. Day 4: Take a Copenhagen Canal Tour and Visit The Little Mermaid
Take a boat tour through Copenhagen’s scenic canals, where you’ll see the impressive architecture of the city and cruise underneath its iconic bridges. Pass by attractions like the Christiansborg Palace, the Opera House, and the Black Diamond, which will give you a whole new perspective of Copenhagen. After the boat tour, take a walk to visit the famous Little Mermaid statue, located on a rock in the harbor of Langelinie. Created by Edvard Eriksen in 1913, this sculpture is modeled after Hans Christian Andersen’s fairytale of the same name.
Day 5: Explore Copenhagen’s Museums
Copenhagen is home to many top-notch museums, museums worth visiting include the National Museum of Denmark, the Statens Museum for Kunst, and the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek. These museums offer a variety of exhibitions from art pieces, collections, and artifacts. You’ll gain insight into the nation’s history, from the Vikings to the modern-day, and view a vast collection of artifacts dating back to ancient times.
Day 6: Visit Freetown Christiania and Treetop Walkways
On day 6, visit Freetown Christiania, one of the most interesting attractions in Copenhagen. It is a self-proclaimed sovereign state community located in the heart of Copenhagen, famous for its unique architecture, colorful graffiti, and handmade crafts. After this, take a trip to the newly opened treetop walkways located in the Gisselfeld Klosters Skov. This is a unique attraction in Denmark, which takes you on a canopy tour of the sprawling forest. You’ll get to walk along sky-high tree-top trails, suspended 15-20 meters above the ground.
Day 7: Visit Rosenborg Castle and Botanical Garden
On your last day in Copenhagen, take a trip to Rosenborg Castle, which served as a royal residence for several centuries. This castle features intricate architecture, old decor, and breathtaking gardens. Take a stroll in the Botanical Garden, one of the oldest in Denmark, and enjoy its vast variety of plants, flowers, and herbs. This is the perfect way to end your trip to Copenhagen.
