Day 1: Arrival and First Impressions
Upon your arrival at Las Americas International Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel in Juan Dolio. After checking in, you can spend the rest of the day exploring this beautiful town. Juan Dolio is a charming beach town, known for its white sandy beaches and calm waters, perfect for swimming and sunbathing. You can also take a stroll around the town and explore the local markets for souvenirs.
Day 2: Santo Domingo City Tour
Today we will embark on a city tour of Santo Domingo, the capital city of the Dominican Republic. This historic city is known for its colonial architecture, museums, and cultural landmarks. We will visit the Zona Colonial, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where we will see the Alcázar de Colón, Fortaleza Ozama, and the Cathedral of Santa Maria la Menor. We will also visit Las Damas Street, which is the oldest street in the Americas. There will also be time for shopping and lunch at local restaurants.
Day 3: Beach Day and Snorkeling
Today we will spend the day at Juan Dolio Beach, where you can relax and soak up the sun. There are several beach bars and restaurants where you can enjoy lunch and drinks. In the afternoon, we will take a snorkeling tour to discover the beautiful marine life. The crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean Sea make it easy to spot tropical fish and other sea creatures.
Day 4: Saona Island Excursion
Today we will embark on an exciting excursion to Saona Island, which is considered one of the most beautiful Caribbean islands. The island boasts pristine white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and palm trees swaying in the wind. You’ll have a chance to relax on the beach, take a dip in the turquoise waters, and enjoy a delicious lunch of traditional Dominican cuisine. On our way back, we will stop at a natural pool, a shallow sandbar where you can swim and take fun pictures with starfish.
Day 5: Horseback Riding and Higuey Tour
Today we will go on a horseback riding adventure, where you’ll explore the beautiful countryside around Juan Dolio. You’ll experience the tranquility of the Dominican countryside as you ride through sugar cane fields and tropical forests. Afterwards, we will visit Higuey, a vibrant city known for its Basilica of Our Lady of Altagracia, the patron saint of the Dominican Republic. The Basilica is one of the most important religious landmarks in the country, and you will get to learn about the Dominican culture and religion.
Day 6: Nightlife and Local Cuisine
Today we will have a free day, and you can explore Juan Dolio on your own, or just relax at your hotel. At night, we will go explore the local nightlife scene, where you can immerse yourself in the local culture and dance to the rhythm of merengue and salsa. We will visit local bars and clubs known for their lively atmosphere and music. You can also indulge in the local cuisine and try some of the traditional dishes.
Day 7: Departure
Today is the last day of your trip, and you will be transferred to Las Americas International Airport for your flight back home. You can spend the morning enjoying your hotel amenities or take a last stroll around town before it’s time to go.
