Day 1: Arrival and Relaxation

Day 2: El Limón Waterfall
On day 2, you can take a trip to El Limón Waterfall, which is situated on the Samaná Peninsula of Las Terrenas. This natural waterfall is located in a breathtaking tropical forest and is approximately 40 meters tall. You can reach the falls by a short hike through the beautiful forest. The El Limón waterfall is a popular swimming spot, so you may want to pack a bathing suit and towel to enjoy a refreshing swim in the clear waters after the hike.
Day 3: Whale Watching
Day 3 starts with an unforgettable experience in Las Terrenas – Whale Watching. From the beginning of January to mid-April, hundreds of humpback whales migrate through the Caribbean to the waters off the Samaná Peninsula. You can take a guided boat tour through the clear blue waters of Punta Balandra or Punta Bonita, which will take about 30 minutes. In addition to the whales, you may also spot dolphins, sea turtles, and other marine life during the trip.
Day 4: Explore Los Haitises National Park
On day 4, you can explore the Los Haitises National Park. The park is located in the northeast region of the Dominican Republic and is known for its mangrove forests, lagoons, ancient Taino cave paintings, and stunning Caribbean coastline. The park is a nature lover’s paradise, with an abundance of wildlife, including over 100 species of birds. You can take a boat tour along the park’s coastline, through the mangroves and caves, and learn about the park’s unique ecosystem.
Day 5: Las Terrenas Beaches
Take day 5 to explore Las Terrenas’ best beaches. There is a wide range of beaches to choose from, each with its own unique atmosphere. Playa Rincón is known for its unspoiled beauty and crystal-clear waters. It was voted one of the most beautiful beaches in the world by Condé Nast Traveler. Playa Coson is another popular choice, it is peaceful and boasts stunning views of the sunset. Playa Las Terrenas is a great option if you want to do some surfing, windsurfing, or kitesurfing.
Day 6: ATV or Horseback Riding Tour
On day 6, you can take an ATV tour or horseback riding tour through the beautiful countryside of Las Terrenas. This tour will take you through the scenic hills, beautiful beaches, and lush green forests. You’ll ride through small towns and villages and get to experience the local way of life. ATV rentals are readily available, and you’ll be given all the necessary safety gear and training before the tour.
Day 7: Nightlife in Las Terrenas
Take the last day of your trip to experience the nightlife of Las Terrenas. The town offers a variety of exciting nightclubs, beachfront bars, and live music venues. Most clubs and bars open after 11 pm and stay open until early in the morning. Pueblo de Los Pescadores is the main hub for nightlife in Las Terrenas. This vibrant area, located near the beach, is full of restaurants, cafes, bars, and nightclubs.
