Trip to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic

Day 1: Arrival and Relaxation

After your arrival at Santo Domingo, we will check into the hotel where you can rest for a while and recover from the trip. In the evening, head out to the “Zona Colonial,” the old city, to grab some dinner and explore. Here, you will find several restaurants and cafes that serve traditional Dominican food. Additionally, it’s a great place to see some of the city’s historical sites such as the Alcázar de Colón, Fortaleza Ozama, Catedral Primada de America, and many others.

Day 2: Exploring the Historical Sites

On this day, we will begin by visiting the Alcázar de Colón, a castle that was built in the 16th century. It was the home of Diego Columbus, the son of Christopher Columbus, and his wife, Maria de Toledo. It’s a great place to learn about the history of Santo Domingo and to see some beautiful architecture. After that, we will visit Fortaleza Ozama, which is a 16th-century fort that was built to protect the city from invaders. The fort has an impressive gate, weapons, armory, watchtower, and dungeons. Lastly, we will see the Catedral Primada de America, the oldest cathedral in the Americas, and a UNESCO world heritage site.

Day 3: Beach Day

Today, we will head to Boca Chica beach, which is the nearest one from Santo Domingo, and Relax under the sun. Boca chica beach is surrounded by bars and restaurants that offer fresh seafood and tropical drinks. We can also arrange for some water activities such as snorkeling, diving, and other water sports.

Day 4: Explore National Park Los Tres Ojos

On this day, we will visit Los Tres Ojos National Park, which is a park with three lakes that are interconnected via underground water-courses. The park has caves, trails, and a lot of lush greenery. Take a boat ride and marvel at the natural beauty begging to be captured on camera.

Day 5: Shopping day

Get ready to shop till you drop today! We’ll start our day by visiting Blue Mall and Acropolis Center, two premier malls in Santo Domingo. Blue Mall is home to several international brands such as Louis Vuitton, Burberry, and Prada. Whereas, Acropolis Center is home to several luxury boutiques, a cinema, and many restaurants. We’ll also visit Zona Colonial which is full of antique stores, souvenir shops, and the Mercado Modelo where you can buy local arts and crafts.

Day 6: Nightlife

It’s time to experience the fun nightlife of Santo Domingo. We will visit La Zona Rosa, which is the city’s most popular party district. The area is filled with bars, clubs, and casinos, with music ranging from live bands to DJs spinning salsa, merengue, and other rhythms. There are numerous clubs in the area, including Jet Set, Platinum, and Casa de Teatro. You can also find many bars and cafes in the area which are perfect for a more relaxed atmosphere.

Day 7: Departure

On the last day, we’ll have breakfast and then head to the airport to catch our flight back home. This is the perfect time to reflect on all the amazing experiences and memories made during the trip.
