Trip to Cairo, Egypt

Day 1: Arrival in Cairo

Upon your arrival at Cairo International Airport, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. You can spend the rest of the day relaxing and exploring the area near your hotel. One thing you might consider is taking a stroll through the Khan El-Khalili Bazaar, one of the oldest and most famous marketplaces in the Middle East. Here, you’ll find all sorts of handicrafts, antiques, textiles, pottery, spices, and jewelry.

Day 2: Cairo City Tour

Today you’ll be taking a full-day tour of Cairo’s most iconic landmarks. Your guide will take you to the Great Pyramids of Giza, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Here, you’ll marvel at the sheer scale of the pyramids and learn about the ancient Egyptians’ incredible engineering feat. Afterwards, you’ll visit the Sphinx, the largest monolith statue in the world. Then you’ll proceed to the Egyptian Museum where you’ll find the treasures of Tutankhamun and other pharaohs on display.

Day 3: Islamic Cairo Tour

Today, you’ll explore the vibrant Islamic Cairo with your guide. The tour starts with a visit to the beautiful Citadel of Salah El Din and the Alabaster Mosque. From there, you’ll walk down to the bustling Khan El-Khalili market, where you can put your bargaining skills to the test and haggle for souvenirs and gifts. You’ll also have an opportunity to stop by the Ibn Tulun Mosque, Egypt’s oldest and largest mosque that has survived in its original form.

Day 4: Alexandria Day Trip

On your fourth day, we suggest taking a day trip to the coastal city of Alexandria. Alexandria is famous for being the site of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Pharos Lighthouse, which is now the Citadel of Qaitbay. You can also visit the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, a modern library that has quickly become a city landmark, and explore the ancient Roman Amphitheater.

Day 5: Traditional Day Tour

Today, you’ll experience the traditional life of Egyptians. You can start your day with a visit to a traditional Hammam, or public bathhouse, where you can relax and unwind. From there, you’ll head to El Moez Street, a pedestrianized alleyway that is considered one of the most beautiful streets in the Islamic world. Here, you’ll see some of the most impressive medieval architecture, such as the Al-Hakim Mosque and the Bayt Al-Suhaymi.

Day 6: Nile River Dinner Cruise

No trip to Cairo is complete without a dinner cruise on the Nile River. Today, you’ll embark on a 2-hour Nile River cruise while enjoying traditional Egyptian cuisine, music, and dance. As you sail down the river, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the city and its landmarks, all while being entertained by a live band and belly dancers.

Day 7: Departure

Today marks the end of your trip to Cairo. Depending on the time of your flight, you can spend the day shopping for souvenirs or exploring the city on your own. Finally, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight home.
