Day 1: Arrival and Relaxation
Upon arrival in Cannes, you can check into your hotel and freshen up before exploring the city. If you want to take it easy on your first day, head to the beach to relax under the sun and take a dip in the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean Sea. You can also take a stroll along La Croisette and enjoy the picturesque views of the coastline. For dinner, head to Le Manoir where you can indulge in their signature bouillabaisse, a traditional fish soup originating from Marseille.
Day 2: Sightseeing in Cannes
Start the day by exploring the historic old town of Cannes called Le Suquet. Here, you can wander around the narrow winding streets where you will stumble upon charming cafes, restaurants, and shops. Climb up to the Suquet Tower, an observation point that offers panoramic views of Cannes and the harbor. Afterward, visit the Notre-Dame d’Esperance, a stunning Gothic church dating back to the 16th century. Finish the day with a visit to the Palais des Festivals, home of the world-famous Cannes Film Festival.
Day 3: Island Hopping
Take a boat trip to the Lerins Islands which offer the chance to escape from the hustle and bustle of Cannes. The islands are home to two monasteries, Fort Royal, and a Napoleonic museum. The islands are also covered in greenery and offer scenic walks and trails. You can also enjoy swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing on the pristine beaches.
Day 4: Shopping in Cannes
Spend the day shopping from the high-end boutiques to the quaint stores in Cannes. The Rue d’Antibes offers luxury shopping with designer brands such as Chanel, Prada, and Gucci. For a more vintage and individualistic shopping experience, head to Le Suquet where you will find local craftsmen, souvenir shops, and eccentric fashion boutiques.
Day 5: Explore the Surrounding Areas
Take a train or bus tour to the nearby villages such as Antibes or Grasse, which offer a genuine insight into the French culture. Antibes has several quaint cafes and shops that you can visit. Grasse, recognized as the perfume capital of France, offers a range of perfume museums, botanical gardens, and farms where you can learn about the art of making perfumes.
Day 6: Day Trip to Monaco
Take a train ride to Monaco, the tiny principality known for glamour, casinos, and the Grand Prix. Visit the Prince’s Palace and its terrace overlooking the Mediterranean sea, the Monaco Cathedral where Grace Kelly married Prince Rainier, the oceanographic museum, and the ornate Casino de Monte-Carlo. You can also take walk along the harbor and dine in one of the many Michelin-starred restaurants in town.
Day 7: Parting the Cannes Way
On the last day of your trip, you can take it easy by heading to the beach, strolling in the city, or relaxing in a spa. Alternatively, visit the Eglise Reformee de France church which offers stunning views of Cannes from its balcony. For your farewell dinner, dine at the Auberge de Provence where you can enjoy some of the best French cuisine accompanied by their excellent selection of wines.
