Day 1: Welcome to Berlin, Germany

Willkommen in Berlin! You will arrive at Tegel airport (TXL) or Berlin Schönefeld Airport (SXF) and take a taxi or public transportation to your hotel. Once you settle in, take a leisurely walk to the Brandenburg Gate, arguably Berlin’s most famous landmark. Stroll down Pariser Platz towards Unter den Linden, one of Berlin’s most prestigious streets. You will pass the State Opera, the Neue Wache memorial, and Humboldt University on your way to Museum Island. There, you will find five world-renowned museums, all located in close proximity. Spend a few hours exploring the Pergamon Museum, home to one of the most impressive collections of ancient artifacts in the world. The Pergamon Altar, the Ishtar Gate, and the Market Gate of Miletus are just a few examples of what you will see in this museum.

Day 2: Discover Berlin’s rich history

Today, we recommend that you explore Berlin’s rich history. Start the day with a visit to the Topography of Terror museum, located on the site of the former Gestapo and SS headquarters. This museum documents the crimes committed by the Nazi regime in Germany and across Europe. Afterward, take a short walk to the Checkpoint Charlie Museum, which tells the story of the Berlin Wall and the efforts to escape from East Berlin. After lunch, take the U-Bahn to Alexanderplatz and head to the Berlin TV Tower. Take the elevator up to the viewing platform for stunning panoramic views of the city. Afterward, return to Alexanderplatz and walk towards the Rotes Rathaus (Red City Hall), the seat of the city’s government.

Day 3: Take a relaxing day

Today, you may feel like taking it easy and taking advantage of a more relaxed pace. Take a walk through the lush and green Tiergarten park. If the weather permits, rent a paddleboat and take to one of the park’s numerous lakes. After a leisurely lunch, visit the Charlottenburg Palace, one of the most beautiful palaces in Germany. Walk through the stunning rooms, including the opulent ballroom and the famous porcelain room. After darkness falls, head back to the city center to the famous Friedrichstraße, where you will find numerous restaurants, bars, and cafes to unwind in.

Start the day by taking the train to Potsdam, a charming town just outside of Berlin. Go to Glienicke Bridge, also known as the Bridge of Spies. During the Cold War, this bridge marked the exchange point between the Soviet Union and the West for captured spies. Afterwards, return to Berlin and take a leisurely stroll down the East Side Gallery, a part of the Berlin Wall covered in colorful graffiti and murals. Afterward, continue on to the trendy Kreuzberg neighborhood and take a relaxing break in Görlitzer Park.

Day 5: Berlin’s World-Class Museums

Today, explore the best of Berlin’s museums. First, make your way to the impressive Gemäldegalerie, whose collection spans art from the 13th to the 18th century. Afterward, take the metro to Berlin’s most famous avenue, Unter den Linden. Stroll along it towards the Berlin Cathedral, a neo-Renaissance cathedral that is an architectural masterpiece. After this visit to Berlin’s most famous landmark, spend the afternoon in the Alte Nationalgalerie. This museum houses an impressive collection of art from 1800 to 1900, including works by Caspar David Friedrich, the leader of the German Romantic movement.

Day 6: Shopping and relaxation

After five days of sightseeing, we think it’s time to take it easy and enjoy some shopping and relaxation. Start the day by indulging in a luxurious breakfast at one of Berlin’s many pastry shops. Then head to the Kurfürstendamm, Berlin’s most famous shopping street. You’ll find numerous international luxury brands here, as well as boutique shops and charming cafes. Afterward, take a break at one of the many parks dotted throughout the city.

Day 7: Farewell Berlin

Alas, today is your final day in Berlin. If you have an early flight, seize the opportunity to take a final stroll around the city before heading to the airport. If your flight is in the evening or at night, take advantage of the time you have left. For your final lunch, we recommend the trendy neighborhood of Prenzlauer Berg, known for its excellent cafes and restaurants.
