Trip to Chania, Greece

Day 1: Arrival and City Exploration

Once you arrive in Chania, settle into your hotel and then start exploring the city. Chania is a beautiful coastal city, known for its Venetian Harbor. You can start your day by relaxing at the hotel pool and then heading to the harbor to explore the Venetian Harbor. The harbor boasts beautiful cafes, bar, and restaurants with amazing seafood. After exploring the harbor, visit the Chania Lighthouse and walk around the old town before heading back to your hotel for the night.

Day 2: Beach Day at Elafonisi

Today, take a day trip to Elafonisi, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The stunning pink sand beach is surrounded by turquoise waters, making it the perfect place to relax and get some sun. Bring a book, lay out a towel and soak up the sun. You can also go snorkeling and see the exotic marine life or take a walk along the coast. Be sure to stay till sunset to see the magical Elafonisi sunset.

Day 3: Samaria Gorge Hike

Today, head to the Samaria Gorge national park to hike one of the most famous gorges in the world. It’s a 16 km hike that takes a whole day to complete. The hike is challenging, but the views are stunning. The gorge is part of the national park and is home to rare flora and fauna, including the famous Kri-Kri goats. After the hike, head to Agia Roumeli, a small village by the sea, to relax and get some food.

Day 4: Cooking Class

Today you can take a traditional cooking class around Chania. You will learn how to cook Cretan dishes and learn about the Mediterranean diet. You will also get the opportunity to visit the local markets, learn about the local ingredients, and get to taste some of the local food. After the class, enjoy the food you’ve cooked or head to nearby restaurants for a taste of other local cuisines.

Day 5: Balos Beach Day Trip

Today, take a day trip to Balos Beach, famous for its crystal-clear turquoise waters. The beach is surrounded by wild vegetation and is a great place to relax and enjoy the sun. Balos can be reached either by boat or by car. Once you reach Balos Beach, take a walk to the nearby Gramvousa island or visit the Venetian Castle. Make sure to stay till sunset to see the beautiful orange skies.

Day 6: Nightlife in Chania

On your last full day in Chania, explore the city’s nightlife. Chania has a vibrant nightlife scene with multiple bars, cafes, and nightclubs to choose from. You can start your night at the Square of Agora and explore the different bars and cafes the city has to offer. For a lively night out, head to the old Venetian harbor and drop by one of the nightclubs there. Dance the night away with the locals and enjoy some great music before heading back to your hotel.

Day 7: Departure

On your final day in Chania, take a relaxed stroll around the old town and get last-minute souvenirs from the local vendors. Afterward, check out from your hotel and head to the airport for your flight back home.
