Day 1: Arrival in Patras
Welcome to Patras! After checking into your hotel, take a walk along the stunning coastline and enjoy the sunset from the famous Rio-Antirrio bridge. For dinner, head to the Old Town (Ano Poli) and try some traditional Greek cuisine at one of the many tavernas or restaurants.
Day 2: Patras City Tour
Experience the rich and diverse culture of Patras by starting the day with a city walking tour. You can visit some of the city’s iconic sites, such as the Medieval Castle of Patras (which dates back to the 6th century), and the famous Roman Odeon. Exploring the archaeological museum in the afternoon would provide insight into the past of the area and allows you to experience some of the region’s history.
Day 3: Wine Tasting in Achaia Wine Region
Explore the Achaia region of Greece and explore its world-renowned wine during a scenic drive through the lush countryside. Sit back and enjoy a wine tasting at one of the many vineyards, sample its varieties, and take home your favorite bottle. For dinner, you could either visit a nearby restaurant or head back to Patras to explore the nightlife.
Day 4: Trip to Kalavryta
Take a scenic rail journey to the beautiful mountain village of Kalavryta. On the one-hour ride, you will pass through beautiful vineyards and picturesque countryside. Once you arrive explore the quaint village with its narrow cobbled streets, restored houses, and the St. Lavra Monastery, where you can learn about the village’s tragic history. You can also take the rack railway up to the Club Ski Center, where you can enjoy the nature and winter sports.
Day 5: Shopping and Markets
Spend the day shopping for souvenirs and gifts in Patras’s bustling markets. The open-air market offers a vibrant mix of stalls selling everything from fragrant spices to colorful fabrics and handcrafts. After a busy morning shopping, take a break and relax in a nearby cafe or restaurant for some midday refreshments.
Day 6: Beach Day
Enjoy the sun and sea with a visit to the stunning beaches near Patras. Located within an hour’s distance from the city, visit the popular beaches of Psathopyrgos, Niforeika, and Kalogria to enjoy some of the areas crystal waters and perfect sandy beaches. Relax and unwind with a cocktail in hand at one of the many beachside bars.
Day 7: Departure
It’s time to head home. Before you leave, enjoy one last traditional Greek breakfast along the coast. Make sure to take home some of the memories of your trip by purchasing souvenirs at the local shops and markets before heading to the airport.
