Day 1: Arrival & City Walk

Day 2: Exploring the Old Town

Begin your day with a traditional Greek breakfast, and then make your way to the old town of Thessaloniki. Start with a visit to the impressive Agios Dimitrios church, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Next, wander through the narrow cobbled streets of the Ano Poli (Upper Town), admiring the beautiful traditional architecture and ancient monuments. End your day with a stroll through the bustling Ladadika neighborhood, which is known for its nightlife and excellent restaurants.

Day 3: Visiting the Royal Tombs & Aristotelous Square

Today, you will visit the ancient Royal Tombs of Vergina, which are among the most important archaeological sites in all of Greece. Here, you will explore the tombs of Philip II of Macedon, the father of Alexander the Great. Afterward, return to Thessaloniki to enjoy a leisurely lunch at Aristotelous Square, one of the city’s main squares that is lined with elegant buildings, shops, and cafes. At night, enjoy a night out in the city’s lively entertainment district of Valaoritou.

Day 4: Exploring the Museums

Spend a day exploring some of Thessaloniki’s best museums. Start with the Archaeological Museum, which houses an impressive collection of ancient Greek, Roman, and Byzantine artifacts, including the extraordinary Derveni Krater, which is widely regarded as one of the finest pieces of Hellenistic metalwork ever found. Next, visit the Museum of Byzantine Culture, which showcases the history and art of the Byzantine Empire, a period of great significance for Thessaloniki. End your day with a visit to the exciting Museum of Modern Art, which houses a collection of modern and contemporary art from around the world.

Day 5: Mount Olympus & Dion Archaeological Park

Today, you will take a day trip to the legendary Mount Olympus, which is the highest mountain in Greece and was once believed to be the home of the gods. Take a hike through the stunning natural scenery at the foothills of the mountain, or visit the nearby Archaeological Park of Dion, an ancient city that was an important religious center during Hellenistic and Roman times.

Day 6: Beach Day & Nightlife

Spend a relaxing day at one of Thessaloniki’s beautiful beaches. There are many excellent options to choose from, including the popular Peraia Beach, which is known for its calm waters, beautiful scenery, and excellent seafood restaurants. At night, head back to the city center to experience the vibrant nightlife scene, with countless bars, clubs, and pubs offering a great night out.

Day 7: Departure

Sadly, it’s time to say goodbye to Thessaloniki. Spend your last few hours enjoying the city’s charming atmosphere, sampling some of its delicious cuisine, and shopping for souvenirs to bring back home. Make sure to take a final stroll along the waterfront promenade, enjoying the beautiful views of the Aegean Sea, before departing for the airport.
