Trip to Morne Rouge, Grenada
Day 1: Arrival
Upon arrival at Maurice Bishop International Airport, you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel in Morne Rouge. You can spend the day relaxing and exploring nearby beaches and restaurants. Head to the nearby Morne Rouge beach (10 minutes walk) for some swimming, sunbathing and snorkeling. There are a handful of beach bars if you would like to grab a drink or bite to eat. Alternatively, head into Grand Anse which is a larger beach and has more activity.
Day 2: Drive to St. George’s
Spend the day exploring the charming city of St. George’s, the capital of Grenada. The city is steeped in history, and there are plenty of great sights to see. Start with a stroll through the city center and visit the Grenada National Museum, which houses an impressive collection of artifacts and exhibits that provide insight into Grenadian history. From there, visit Fort George, a historic fort with sweeping views over the city and the harbor. Next, head over to Market Square, where you can explore the lively streets of the market and shop for souvenirs. Finally, head to Grand Anse Beach for sunset to soak in the stunning views.
Day 3: Visit Grand Etang National Park
Today, take a scenic drive up into the hills of Grenada to explore the Grand Etang National Park. The park is a lush rainforest, filled with tropical flora and fauna. Take a guided hike through the forest to see the picturesque Grand Etang crater lake, surrounded by rolling hills. If you are lucky, you might spot some of the parks wildlife, including Mona monkeys and tree frogs.
Day 4: Trip to Levera Beach and Bathway Beach
Today, take a drive up to the northern coast of Grenada to visit two of the most beautiful beaches on the island: Levera Beach and Bathway Beach. At Levera Beach, you can take a swim in the crystal-clear waters and relax on the golden sand. From there, head over to Bathway Beach, a more secluded spot that is ideal for swimming.
Day 5: Shopping in St. George’s and Spice Tour
Today, head back to St. George’s for some shopping. Head over to the shops at Spiceland Mall for some souvenirs and gifts. From there, head to the famous spice market, where you can buy a variety of fresh spices like nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves. Afterward, continue to the nearby Spice Factory and take a guided tour to learn more about the island’s spice trade history.
Day 6: Diving and Snorkelling
Take a day trip from Morne Rouge to the Underwater Sculpture Park for some incredible diving and snorkelling experiences. The park features over 80 sculptures, each with its own unique story. The experience of swimming down to the reef to explore these sculptures is truly unforgettable. Afterward, take some time to go on boat rides to get up close with the diverse marine life surrounding the island.
