Trip to St. George’s, Grenada

Day 1: Arrival and Relaxation

After arriving at St. George’s International Airport and settling in at your hotel, it’s time to relax and unwind on the beach. Grand Anse Beach is a great place to start your vacation, with two miles of soft sand and crystal clear waters. You can take a refreshing swim, relax under the sun with your favorite book, or just enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding hills and turquoise waters. Don’t forget to try some fresh local cuisine and delicious tropical drinks at the beach bar.

Day 2: Forts and History

Today, it’s time to explore the historical side of St. George’s. Start your day with a visit to Fort George, which was built in 1705 by the French. The fort offers panoramic views of the city, the sea and the surrounding mountains. From there, take a short walk to Fort Frederick, built in 1779. This fort is located on top of a hill and offers a breathtaking view of the entire southern coast of Grenada. After your tour of the forts, explore the historic St. George’s Market Square, where you can find many crafts and spices unique to Grenada.

Day 3: Grand Etang National Park

Today, take a trip to Grand Etang National Park, just 15 minutes outside of St. George’s. This beautiful park is located in the heart of Grenada’s mountain range and offers nature trails, waterfalls, and breathtaking views of the island. You can hike the trails to find hidden waterfalls, beautiful tropical forests, and the park’s stunning crater lake. Be sure to stop by the visitor’s center to learn about Grenadian history and wildlife.

Day 4: Scenic Drive and Chocolate Making

Today is all about taking a scenic drive along the coast of the island. Drive up to the town of Gouyave, home of the Gouyave Nutmeg Processing Cooperative, where you can learn about the culture and history of nutmeg production in Grenada. From there, take a drive along the coast to the Belmont Estate, where you can learn about the production of chocolate, as well as the history of the estate and the plantation. Enjoy a chocolate-making demonstration and try some delicious cocoa tea and local cuisine.

Day 5: Beach Day

Spend another day soaking up the sun and enjoying the beach. This time, head to Morne Rouge Beach, also known as BBC Beach. This secluded beach is located just 10 minutes south of Grand Anse and offers calm, pristine waters and beautiful surroundings. You can relax under the sun, swim or snorkel, or take a boat ride to an isolated island.

Day 6: Nightlife and Local Music

Spend your last full day in St. George’s experiencing the vibrant nightlife of this small town. Start your evening with a sunset drink at one of the local bars, like Umbrella’s Beach Bar. Then, head over to Bananas, the local hotspot for live music, dancing, and drinks. You can enjoy listening to some authentic Caribbean music while sipping on a refreshing rum punch.

Day 7: Departure

It’s time to say goodbye to St. George’s and beautiful Grenada. Spend your last morning taking in the last few sights, sounds, and tastes of the island. Before your flight, grab a few souvenirs from the market for family and friends back home, or pick up some of the most delicious spices in the world.
