Day 1: Arrival and Relaxation
After your arrival at Jaipur International Airport, you can check-in to your hotel and refresh yourself. Rest of the day can be spent leisurely exploring the hotel and its amenities.
Day 2: Historical Sightseeing and Shopping
Start your day with a visit to the Amber Fort, one of the most visited forts in Rajasthan. This fort was built in the 16th century and it served as the capital of Rajasthan until the capital was moved to Jaipur. The fort has an impressive architecture and offers incredible views of the surrounding areas. You can also enjoy an elephant ride to the top of the fort.
After visiting the Amber Fort, head to Johari Bazaar for some intense shopping. Johari Bazaar is known for its jewelry shops and is the ideal place to hunt for exquisite jewelry pieces made of precious and semi-precious stones. You can also explore the other markets around the bazaar which offer a variety of items including textiles, shoes, and hand crafts.
Day 3: City Palace and Hawa Mahal
Start your day by exploring Jaipur’s City Palace. The palace is a stunning fusion of Rajput, Mughal, and European architectural styles. The palace complex comprises various courtyards and buildings that were built over several centuries. The museum inside the palace showcases the best of Rajasthan’s art and culture.
Next, head to Hawa Mahal, one of the most recognizable structures in India. Built-in 1799, the Hawa Mahal was a place for the royal ladies to observe everyday life without being seen by the public. This beautiful palace is an excellent example of Rajput architecture with 953 small windows called jharokhas which allow the breeze to pass through keeping the interior cool.
In the evening, explore the famous Chokhi Dhani village which is a themed Rajasthani village that showcases the state’s art and culture. The place offers an opportunity to experience Rajasthani folk performances, dining, and shopping under one roof.
Day 4: Jaigarh Fort and Sunset View
Head to Jaigarh Fort which is located at a 15 minutes drive from the Amber Fort. Jaigarh Fort is known for its extensive network of underground tunnels that allowed the royal family to escape during an emergency. The fort also houses the Jaivana cannon, the world’s largest wheeled cannon with a noticeable length of 20 feet.
In the evening, visit Nahargarh Fort and witness the mesmerizing view of Jaipur city at sunset. Nahargarh Fort offers a beautiful panoramic view of the city and it is also the popular spot for locals to watch the sunset.
Day 5: Birla Mandir and Albert Hall Museum
Start your day by visiting the Birla Mandir which is a beautiful marble temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. The temple is situated on a hillock and offers stunning views of the city.
Next, head to Albert Hall Museum which is one of the oldest museums in Rajasthan. The museum showcases a diverse collection of artifacts ranging from Ancient Egyptian mummies to modern art.
Day 6: Anokhi Museum and Cooking Class
Start your day by visiting Anokhi Museum, which is dedicated to the art of block printing. Block printing is a traditional craft of Rajasthan that utilizes wooden blocks to print patterns on fabric. The museum offers the visitors the chance to learn about the history of this beautiful art as well as see examples of modern work.
In the evening, enjoy a cooking class offered by one of the many cooking schools in Jaipur. You will get an opportunity to learn how to cook traditional authentic Rajasthani dishes.
Day 7: Departure
On your last day, check out of the hotel and prepare for your departure. If time permits, you can explore some more local markets and pick up some last-minute souvenirs before heading to the airport.
