Day 1: Arrival in Varanasi
Welcome to Varanasi! Upon your arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by our representative who will assist you in your transfer to your hotel. After you check-in and settle down, you can spend the remainder of the day at leisure to explore the city on your own.
Day 2: Sarnath Tour
Today, after breakfast, we will take you on a fascinating trip to Sarnath, a peaceful city located just 10km from Varanasi. This place is sacred for the Buddhists as it is the site where Gautam Buddha gave his first speech after attaining the enlightenment. Here, you will get to see various impressive Buddhist stupas, temples, and archaeological sites. You can explore the history of Buddhism and meditation, and experience visual delights such as the deer park and the museum.
Day 3: The Ghats of Varanasi
Get ready to witness the heart of Varanasi city! Start your day early and head towards the ghats of Varanasi. The ghats are the stone-built riverside steps leading to the river Ganges, and are a unique feature of this city. You can take a boat ride along the stretch of ghats and watch a mesmerizing sunrise while the priests perform the rituals. You can also go on foot and witness the various activities such as people bathing in the river, sellers selling their goods and sadhus performing yoga and meditation on the ghats. You can also visit the main ghats like Dashashwamedh, Manikarnika, and Harishchandra to experience the spirituality and historical significance of this city.
Day 4: Cultural Experience
Today, you will delve deeper into the culture and history of Varanasi. After breakfast, start with a visit to the Bharat Kala Bhawan Museum, where you can explore the various Indian paintings, sculptures, and artifacts from different historical periods. Then, head to the BHU campus (Banaras Hindu University) and visit the famous Vishwanath temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. In the evening, you can experience the classical Indian dance show, a perfect way to end the day.
Day 5: Local Market Tour
Get ready to shop till you drop! Today, you will experience the local market tour. Start your day by strolling through the Bharat Mata Temple, where you can explore the sundry objects used in Indian daily life. Here you will have the opportunity to buy exquisite silk saree, Himalayan shawl, and handicrafts made from Banaras silk and brocade. Then, move to Godowlia market, a popular shopping destination and see the local shops and bazaars selling everything from spices to jewelry.
Day 6: Ramnagar Fort and Evening Ganga Aarti
Today after breakfast, we will visit the beautiful Ramnagar fort on the banks of the Ganges. This remarkable 17th-century sandstone fortress is a masterpiece of Mughal architecture. It houses a museum that has a varied collection of vintage cars, royal palanquins, and historical weapons. After visiting the fort, return to the city and witness the famous Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat, which is an offering ceremony to the Goddess of Ganges. Millions of people visit Varanasi every year to witness this grandeur of worship.
Day 7: Departure
It’s time to say goodbye to this magnificent city and return to your home. As per your flight timing, we will assist with your transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
