Day 1: Arrival and Settle-In
Welcome to Jakarta! Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in and settle in to your room. You can take the rest of the day at your leisure and explore the nearby area on your own.
Day 2: Exploring Jakarta’s Historical Sites
Today, you will explore some of Jakarta’s historical sites. Start the day off at the National Monument, or Monas, which is an iconic symbol of Jakarta’s independence. Next, head to the Istiqlal Mosque, the largest mosque in Southeast Asia, that’s just a few minutes away from Monas by foot. After the mosque, visit the old city of Jakarta or “Kota Tua” where you will find colonial-era architecture of Dutch-era buildings such as the Fatahillah Square, Jakarta History Museum and Wayang Museum. Before calling it a day, don’t forget to try Jakarta’s famous street food like the bakso (meatball soup) and sate (meat skewers) at the nearby pasar Baru market and Tanah Abang market.
Day 3: Day at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah
On Day 3, go to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, a cultural and educational park that showcases the diversity of Indonesia. This massive park is divided into different regions and features pavilions, museums, galleries, and theatres showing films and other performances. You’ll have a chance to learn more about Indonesia’s ethnic, religious, and cultural diversity all in one location. The park also provides many fun and interactive activities such as cycling, cable car rides and 3D theater experiences along with restaurants to grab lunch.
Day 4: Jakarta’s Shopping Scene
Today is the day to hit the shops! Start with a visit to one of Jakarta’s largest malls, Grand Indonesia, which has over 1,000 shops and restaurants. Next, move on to the Pacific Place Mall at Jalan Sudirman, Jakarta’s largest entertainment center. Also spend some time at one of the most popular markets, Block M’s Pasaraya Grande. Here you can purchase unique souvenir items for friends and family at home. After a full day of shopping, unwind at one of Jakarta’s trendy rooftop bars such as Skye or Cloud Lounge and admire the stunning city skyline.
Day 5: Touring Jakarta’s Parks and Art Galleries
Jakarta has a lot of green space despite being an urban metropolis, so today you’ll visit two of the city’s most beautiful parks: Taman Suropati and Taman Menteng. These parks have a lovely balance of nature mixed with modern art installations. Afterwards, visit the Museum Nasional for a view of the country’s largest collection of historical art and artifacts. Finally, end the day with a visit to the Gallery Kemang 58, which exhibits works from both Indonesian and foreign artists.
Day 6: Street Food Adventure and Nightlife
Take a culinary journey through Jakarta’s street food scene in authentic locations such as Pasar Santa and Jalan Sabang. You’ll get the chance to sample some of the city’s most popular dishes, like nasi goreng (fried rice) and martabak (stuffed pancake). By nightfall, move on to some of Jakarta’s most famous bars and clubs where you can liven up with the local crowd on Bulungan, Senopati and Kemang, the most popular areas for nightlife in Jakarta.
Day 7: Departure
That’s the end of your 7 day trip to Jakarta. You will be transferred to Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport for your flight to the next destination. We hope you had an incredible time exploring the diverse offering Jakarta had for you!
