Trip to Kermanshah, Iran

Day 1: Arrival and Exploration

Upon arrival to Kermanshah airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. After checking-in, you can spend some time relaxing and enjoying the amenities of the hotel. In the afternoon, you can start your exploration of the city by visiting the Taq-e Bostan. This is an ancient site consisting of rock reliefs from the Sassanid period which dates back to the 3rd and 4th century AD. You can also visit the Tagh-e-Rostam, another ancient site with the same type of beautiful carvings on the rocks.

Day 2: Discover the City’s Heritage

Today you will explore the rich history of Kermanshah by visiting the Kurd House museum. This is a traditional Kurdish house and a museum which provides an insight into the local customs and traditions of the region. Afterward, you can visit the Bisotun Inscription, another UNESCO World Heritage site located in the city. The Bisotun inscription is a monument to the Persian Empire’s founder, King Darius I and elaborately details important historical information.

Day 3: Take a Day Trip to Kangavar

Today, you can take an excursion to Kangavar, a city located to the west of Kermanshah. Here, you can explore the Anahita temple which is believed to be from the Achaemenid Period. You can also visit the Kangavar Jame mosque, a magnificent example of Islamic-era architecture.

Today you can get a glimpse of the media industry in Iran by visiting the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting. Here, you can learn about the history of Iranian media and how it functions today. You will also learn about how Iranian media has played a role in the country’s modern history.

Day 5: Visit the Bistoon Historical Complex

Today you can visit the Bistoon Historical Complex, which is known for its rock carvings of King Darius I. The complex is situated near the town of Bistoon. In the complex, you will see rock carvings that are believed to have been made during the Achaemenid era.

Day 6: Shopping and Nightlife

Today you can visit the various bazaars in Kermanshah, such as the Mosha’an market, to purchase authentic handicrafts and souvenirs. You can also experience the lively nightlife of the city by visiting one of its many coffee shops and restaurants.

Day 7: Departure
