Day 1: Arrival and Local Sightseeing
Welcome to Qom! After your arrival at the airport, you will be taken to your hotel for check-in. Once you are settled in, it’s time to explore the city. One of the most prominent landmarks in Qom is the Hazrat-e-Masumeh Shrine, which is the most sacred site for Shia Muslims in Iran. The exquisite tilework and gold plating make the shrine an architectural marvel. After the shrine, you can pay a visit to Bazaar-e-Qom and stroll through it’s beautiful alleyways filled with shops selling traditional Iranian handicrafts, spices, and souvenirs. Cap off your day in one of the many traditional teahouses located throughout the city.
Day 2: Excursion to Kashan
On day two, we suggest taking a day trip to Kashan, a beautiful city about 90 minutes from Qom. Kashan has a rich history and is home to many palaces and gardens. You can start your trip with a visit to Fin Garden, a beautifully manicured garden that is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Then head to Tabatabaei House, a 19th-century mansion and one of the most impressive examples of traditional Iranian architecture. After a relaxing afternoon in Kashan, return to Qom in the evening.
Day 3: Museum Visit and Nightlife
Begin your day with a visit to the Qom Traditional Arts and Handicrafts Museum. Here, you can learn about the history of Iranian crafts, including pottery, calligraphy, carpentry, and textiles. The museum also features numerous exhibitions and workshops showcasing the works of local artisans. In the evening, take a stroll around the city and visit one of the many cafes, restaurants, or nightclubs in the area.
Day 4: Imam Khomeini’s Residence
Visit the home of the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini. The museum houses an extensive collection of personal belongings of Imam Khomeini, including photographs, books, golden swords, and awards. After the museum, take a pleasant walk through the old city of Qom and explore the many mosques, gardens, and historic buildings in the area.
Day 5: Hiking and Nature Walks
Qom is surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes. Take a break from the city and explore some of the nearby hiking trails and natural reserves. You can start with Abbas Abad Garden, located on the outskirts of Qom, and enjoy a relaxing picnic accompanied by the music of flowing water from the nearby waterfall. The area is also popular among local hikers and climbers.
Day 6: Holy Shrine of Fatima al-Masumeh
Day six is perfect to visit the Holy Shrine of Fatima al-Masumeh, the sister of Imam Reza and a revered figure in Shia Islam. The complex around the shrine is a masterpiece of Iranian architecture and features exquisite tilework, calligraphy, and domes. One of the highlights is the golden dome, which houses the tomb of Fatima al-Masumeh.
Day 7: Departure and Last Minute Shopping
After breakfast, you can take some time to buy some last-minute souvenirs and gifts at the bazaar. Then, you will be taken to the airport for your departure. We hope you enjoy your trip and carry back many wonderful memories from Qom!
