Trip to Blue Mountains, Jamaica
Day 1: Arrival and Relaxation
You will arrive in Jamaica and be picked up by your private taxi. You will be transferred to your hotel situated at the feet of the Blue Mountains. After checking in, spend the rest of the day getting some rest and fresh air, and exploring your surroundings. You can take a leisurely stroll through the botanical gardens and enjoy a slow-paced afternoon before dinner.
Day 2: Hiking to the Peak
You will trek to Blue Mountain Peak on the second day. This is the highest point on the island with an elevation of 7,402 ft. The hike can be a little strenuous, but it is well worth the effort as the views at the peak are breathtaking. You should plan to start early in the morning and return by late afternoon. You will be accompanied by a guide who will show you everything and explain all aspects of the culture in the area.
Day 3: Tour of the Blue Mountains by Bicycle
On this day, enjoy a tour of the Blue Mountains by bike with a trained guide. The tour starts off in the local area and slowly makes its way up to the Blue Mountain Peak - this is a perfect opportunity to see some of the amazing views, historical sites and coffee plantations. The tour lasts most of the day, and you may stop at a small pancake restaurant in the Rainforest.
Day 4: Reggae Music and Beaches
Now that you have explored the mountains, on your fourth day, immerse yourself in the very best of the Jamaican culture — reggae music and beaches! Start the day by visiting the Bob Marley Museum in Kingston which is about two hours away from the Blue Mountains. Then, spend a lazy afternoon soaking up the sun on the world-famous Seven Mile Beach in Negril. In the evening, you can explore local nightlife or arrange a private dinner on the beach.
Day 5: Fern Gully and Shopping
On day five, visit Fern Gully, a natural wonder in the rainforest and home to over 600 varieties of ferns. This should take you 3-4 hours overall depending on the length of your visit. After you finish up there, head to the town of Ocho Rios for some shopping and browsing through Jamaica’s Rainforest Bobsled Adventure - this is a perfect opportunity to pick up some souvenirs for your loved ones.
Day 6: The Blue Lagoon and Rafting
You will spend the day exploring the Blue Lagoon and taking a rafting tour down the Rio Grande River. The Blue Lagoon is a natural pool that is filled with crystal clear water. The water’s color is blue-green due to a mix of seawater and freshwater. Spend some time swimming or hire a paddle boat to enjoy the scenic views. After lunch, raft down the Rio Grande River, which is a 90-minute peaceful journey where you can explore Jamaica’s beautiful countryside.
Day 7: Departure
Your final day in Jamaica will be spent relaxing at your hotel and enjoying the Blue Mountains before being transferred back to the airport for your flight home. You can bring back home some of the essential oils obtained locally in the Blue Mountains, such as Eucalyptus or Lavender.
