Trip to Kawasaki, Japan

Day 1: Arrival

Upon arriving at Narita or Haneda airport, take the train to Kawasaki and check into your hotel. Spend the day settling in, getting familiar with the area and enjoying the hotel amenities. You can also take a stroll around the hotel and explore its surroundings. Kawasaki is known for its proximity to Tokyo, being only a 30-minute train ride, so you can also start planning your Tokyo excursions for the next few days.

Day 2: Sightseeing in Kawasaki

Spend the day exploring Kawasaki’s sights and sounds. Begin by visiting the Nihon Minka-en museum, an open-air museum that showcases traditional Japanese homes from the Edo period. Finally, head to the Kawasaki Daishi one of the most popular temples in the region where you can witness its grandeur and spiritual atmosphere.

Day 3: Shopping in Kawasaki

In Kawasaki, there’s a never-ending supply of shopping and entertainment options. Visit La Cittadella, a shopping complex with a wide variety of trendy stores, restaurants, cafes and bars. Here you will find fashion boutiques, stylish interior decor shops and lifestyle stores with a uniquely Japanese twist. Alternatively, you can head to Kawasaki Station where you will find department stores such as Marui, Lazona and more, as well as more options for shopping and dining.

Day 4: Day trip to Tokyo

Take a day trip to Tokyo, the bustling capital of Japan. Begin by visiting the iconic Tokyo Tower, catch amazing views of the city skyline from the top. Visit the Meiji Shrine and try and make it on time for one of the daily Shinto ceremonies that take place. Explore the trendy area of Harajuku, known for its fashion, art and pop culture scene. Finally, visit Asakusa, an historic district with stunning temples, shrines, the Sanja Matsuri festival and the Nakamise shopping street.

Day 5: Visiting Yokohama

Take the day to visit Yokohama, a nearby commercial hub that also boasts many of Japan’s best attractions. Visit the Landmark Tower which is the city’s most famous attraction featuring a 360-degree observation deck and an impressive sky garden. Explore the city’s historic center, Motomachi, and discover its European-inspired buildings, and streets. Take a trip to the Cup Noodles Museum, which presents the history of the popular food and even allows visitors to make their own noodles.

Day 6: Nightlife in Kawasaki

Kawasaki has a bustling nightlife scene. Head to the city center and explore local drinking hubs such as Kawasaki’s popular jazz club, Harlem, where music is performed every night of the week. For something more casual head to Oi Racecourse where you can enjoy local snacks, drinks, and experience night-time horse races. Wrap up your night with drinks at the Kirin Yokohama Brewery, which offers vast selections of craft beers as well as delicious snacks and meals.

Day 7: Departure

Pack your bags and check out of the hotel, and make your way back to Tokyo or Yokohama for your flight back home. Spend a relaxing day in Tokyo, visiting local parks such as Ueno Park or the Shinjuku Gyoen, or shopping to pick up any missed souvenirs.
