Trip to Yokohama, Japan
Day 1: Arrival and City Tour
Upon your arrival at Haneda Airport, you will be taken to your hotel to freshen up and relax for a bit. After that, you will be heading out to explore the city of Yokohama. Start with a visit to the Yokohama Landmark Tower, which is the second tallest building in Japan. From there, you can take a scenic ride on the Sea Bass, a water bus that will take you to Yamashita Park, which is a popular destination that offers a great view of the city skyline. After exploring the park, head over to the famous Chinatown where you can find hundreds of authentic Chinese restaurants and shops.
Day 2: Kamakura Day Tour
On the second day of your trip, take a day trip to Kamakura, a historic city located just south of Yokohama. The highlight of this tour is the opportunity to view the Daibutsu, which is a 13m high bronze Buddha statue. This statue is located in Kotoku-in, a temple located in Kamakura. After that, explore the Hasedera Temple, one of the most significant landmarks in Kamakura and is home to a unique deity. Finish off the tour with a visit to the Tsurugaoka Hachimangua, which is a shrine located in a gorgeous natural setting that is worth capturing on camera.
Day 3: Ramen Museum and Yokohama Bay Cruise
Day 3 is a foodie day! Start off by visiting the Shin Yokohama Ramen Museum, which is a ramen-themed park that features a variety of ramen noodles from all over Japan. After indulging in a bowl of ramen or two, make your way to the Pier and take a Bay Cruise to enjoy the beautiful Yokohama Bay. The cruise wraps around the harbor before returning back to the pier.
Day 4: Walking Tour of Minato Mirai
Embark on a walking tour of Minato Mirai, known for its scenic views, diverse restaurants, and high-rise buildings. Begin the tour by exploring the Cosmo World Amusement Park, which is located in the heart of Minato Mirai. The amusement park features some thrilling rides and is fun for the whole family. After that, visit the Nippon Maru, which is an old ship that has now been turned into a museum. From there, head to the Landmark Tower Observatory where you can capture some breathtaking photos of Minato Mirai and the surrounding areas.
Day 5: Sankeien Garden and Museum Tour
Visit the Sankeien Garden, which is a large park featuring traditional Japanese architecture and several ponds. Follow up the garden tour with a visit to the Yokohama Museum of Art, which houses several exhibitions that showcase Japanese contemporary art. After that, head over to the Cupnoodles Museum to learn about the history behind instant noodles and to create your own customized noodles.
Day 6: Day at the Beach in Zushi
Escape the city and head to Zushi Beach to relax by the sea, one of the top beaches near Yokohama. Enjoy the serenity of the beach by sunbathing or going for a swim. You can also rent a stand-up paddleboard or a surfboard if you want to get in some more water activities. Zushi is also known for its great seafood, so make sure to stop by one of the many restaurants in the area for some delicious fresh seafood.
Day 7: Last Day Shopping
On the last day, take advantage of Japan’s reputation for being a shopper’s paradise. You can head to the Mitsui Outlet Park Yokohama Bayside for great deals on designer brands, or explore the Red Brick Warehouse, which is a shopping complex that was once a red brick building used for shipping. It now houses several shops and restaurants. After that, head back to your hotel to wrap up your last night in Yokohama.
