Trip to Amboseli National Park, Kenya

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi

Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, you will be met by your driver who will transfer you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you can take a guided tour of the city or visit the Giraffe Center where you can get up close with the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe. Alternatively, you can visit the Animal Orphanage at Nairobi National Park to see orphaned and injured wildlife. In the evening, you can enjoy delicious Kenyan cuisine at one of Nairobi’s top restaurants.

Day 2: Transfer and Game Drive

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and driven to Amboseli National Park, which is about a four-hour drive from Nairobi. Upon arrival at the park, you will check-in at the lodge and relax for a few hours before embarking on your first game drive. Amboseli is renowned for its large elephant herds as well as the stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance. You will have the chance to spot other wildlife such as lions, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeests. In the evening, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Cultural and Wildlife Experience

Today you will visit the Maasai community near the park to experience their culture and way of life. You will have the opportunity to go on a guided walk through the village, learn how to make jewelry and traditional artifacts, and watch traditional dances. Afterward, you will head back to the park for a game drive and in the evening return to the lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Day 4: Game Drive

After breakfast, you will embark on a full-day game drive within the park, allowing you to explore and see even more exciting wildlife. You will have a packed lunch and enjoy it in the park while observing the wildlife in their natural habitats. In the evening, you will head back to the lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 5: Option for Hot Air Ballooning

On the fifth day, you have the option of going on an early-morning hot air balloon ride over Amboseli, experiencing breathtaking views of the park and its wildlife. Afterward, you will have a bush breakfast before heading back to the Sopa Lodge. Otherwise, you can choose to continue with game drives to watch the wildlife. Later in the evening, you can relax at the lodge, take a dip in the pool or have sundowners.

Day 6: Bird Watching and Photography

Today, after breakfast, you will have an early morning bird-watching safari. Amboseli has over 400 bird species, making it a bird watchers’ paradise. You will also have a chance to watch wildlife, take pictures, and record videos to capture memories of your trip. In the afternoon, you will have a final game drive before heading back to the lodge for your final night at Amboseli National Park.

Day 7: Return to Nairobi

After breakfast, you will check out and drive back to Nairobi for your final night in Kenya. You may spend the day relaxing at the hotel or visiting some of Nairobi’s shopping centers such as Westgate Mall, The Village Market, or Yaya Center, where you can buy souvenirs and other items. In the evening, you can go out to one of Nairobi’s top bars or nightclubs before retiring for the night.

Departure Day:

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
