Day 1: Arrival Day

Welcome to Jūrmala, Latvia! Depending on the time of your arrival, you may want to explore the city and soak up the atmosphere. Jūrmala is a seaside resort town known for its beautiful beaches, historic architecture, and array of spas and wellness centers. The city center is compact and can easily be explored on foot or bike. Take a leisurely walk to the beach and visit Dzintari Concert Hall, which hosts many cultural events throughout the year. Grab a bite to eat at one of the seaside restaurants and enjoy the views of the Baltic Sea.

Day 2: Explore the City

After breakfast, head out to explore Jūrmala’s rich cultural heritage. The city has many architecturally stunning buildings, including Art Nouveau masterpieces. Visit Jūrmala History Museum, which traces the resort town’s development from a fishing village in the 19th century to a fashionable destination for the rich and famous. In the afternoon, visit the House of Aspazija, a museum dedicated to the life and works of Aspazija, a pioneering Latvian feminist poet and playwright. In the evening, head to Jomas Street, the liveliest part of Jūrmala, known for its cafes, restaurants, and bars.

Day 3: Visit Kemeri National Park

Today is the day to explore one of the most beautiful natural areas in Latvia, Kemeri National Park. Take a train or a bus from Jūrmala to the park and spend a few hours hiking through the pine forests and bogs. The park has several nature trails that guide visitors through the park’s diverse ecosystems. Don’t miss the chance to soak in the therapeutic, mineral-rich waters of the Kemeri Baths. In the evening, head back to Jūrmala and enjoy a dinner of traditional Latvian cuisine at one of the many local restaurants.

Day 4: Riga City Tour

Today is the perfect day to explore Latvia’s capital, Riga. Take a train or bus from Jūrmala to Riga and embark on a walking tour of this charming city. Home to some of Europe’s best-preserved medieval architecture, Old Riga is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit Riga Castle, the residence of the Latvian president, and St. Peter’s Church, which has one of the best views of the city from its tower. Don’t miss the impressive Riga Central Market, the largest and most colorful market in Eastern Europe, housed in former Zeppelin hangars.

Day 5: Visit the Open-Air Museum of Latvia

Today, take a break from the city crowds and head to the Open-Air Museum of Latvia. The museum is located in a picturesque forest just a short train or bus ride from Jūrmala. It offers visitors a chance to discover traditional, rural Latvian life as it was lived several centuries ago. Stroll through the many exhibits, which include thatched-roof houses, windmills, and old churches. In the evening, head back to Jūrmala for dinner.

Day 6: Visit the Amber Museum

No visit to Jūrmala is complete without a visit to the Amber Museum. The museum is located in a beautiful early 20th-century villa that was once the summer residence of a wealthy Latvian doctor. Learn about the history and value of amber, which is found along the Baltic Sea coast, and see some of the world’s largest pieces of amber. After your visit, head to Līvu Square, one of Jūrmala’s liveliest spots. Check out the local crafts and souvenirs on offer at the market stalls and grab a drink at one of the bars.

Day 7: Departure Day

Today is the last day of your vacation. Spend it soaking up the last of the atmosphere and enjoying your last few hours in Jūrmala. Depending on the time of your departure, you may want to visit the city center one last time, do some last-minute souvenir shopping, or take a stroll along the beach.
