Trip to Triesen, Liechtenstein

Day 1: Arrival & City Tour

Upon your arrival at Zurich Airport, take a train to Sargans, Switzerland and then a bus to Triesen, Liechtenstein. Once in Triesen, check in to your hotel and then start your city tour. Day 2: Vaduz Castle & Museum

Make your way to Vaduz, the capital of Liechtenstein to explore the impressive Vaduz Castle, a landmark of Liechtenstein’s rich history. Learn about the country’s monarchy, history, and culture at the Liechtenstein National Museum. The museum has an extensive collection of historical artifacts, including items from the Roman Empire, and artwork by some of Europe’s renowned artists. You can end the day by strolling through the charming streets of Vaduz, where you can find different shops.

Day 3: Skiing in Malbun

Experience the snow-capped mountains of Liechtenstein in Malbun with skiing and snowboarding. The Malbun ski resort is perfect for beginners and intermediate skiers. From Triesen, take a bus to the resort. You can rent equipment, hit the slopes, or join skiing lessons for a more immersive experience. After a full day of skiing, relax at La Senda coffee shop and enjoy hot drinks and snacks.

Day 4: Balzers Castle & Valduz Tour

Take a day trip and visit Balzers Castle, a 12th-century fortress that remains well-preserved today. The castle provides visitors with a glimpse of medieval Liechtenstein and its unique architecture. Afterward, head to Vaduz, where you can participate in a city tour with many stops. You will experience various points of interest related to the history of both Vaduz and Liechtenstein, including the Landtag, the Government House, and more.

Day 5: Hike & Spa Day

Enjoy a relaxing spa day in the lovely town of Triesen. You can start the morning with a hike to the Malbun waterfalls, which are easily accessible from Triesen with a bus ride. Then, head to the Tamina Therme spa in Bad Ragaz, a thermal bath, for some relaxation, spa treatments, and soaking in the hot springs waters.

Day 6: Liechtenstein Food Tour

Experience Liechtenstein’s unique culinary heritage by taking a food tour. Visit award-winning restaurants and hidden local gems that showcase various techniques that have been passed down from generation to generation. You will learn about the country’s food and wine culture as you indulge in the delicious and unique local specialties including Käsknöpfle, Älplermagronen, and Riebel.

Day 7: Departure

On the final day, take in some last-minute souvenir shopping. You can purchase locally-produced items like trinkets, artwork, and clothing. Afterward, depart from Triesen to Zurich Airport for your return flight.
