Day 1: Exploring the City on Foot
Start your day by taking a walk around the historic city of Valletta. The city is known for its stunning Baroque architecture and charming streets. Begin your journey at the Upper Barrakka Gardens, which offers spectacular views of the Grand Harbour. From there, walk down to Strait Street - the former red-light district of the city that is now a trendy spot for food and drinks. Head over to St. George’s Square, home to the Grandmaster’s Palace, the Supreme Court, and the Parliament building. Wind down your first day by visiting the beautiful St. John’s Co-Cathedral, built by the Order of the Knights of St. John.
Day 2: Visiting the Three Cities
Today, take a ferry to the Three Cities - Vittoriosa, Cospicua, and Senglea. These ancient cities are famous for their historic buildings, narrow streets, and beautiful churches. Day 3: Trip to Gozo Island
Take a day trip to Gozo Island, located just 5 kilometers off the coast of Malta. Explore the historic Ggantija Temples - one of the oldest standing structures in the world. Visit the stunning red-sand Ramla Bay and relax on the beach. End your day with a visit to the picturesque town of Victoria, the capital of Gozo.
Day 4: Shopping and Nightlife
No trip is complete without a shopping spree. Valletta offers a wide range of shopping destinations to choose from. Start with the famous Merchants Street, home to many local and international brands. Next, head over to the traditional market - Marsaxlokk, where you can find fresh seafood and other local goods. End your day by exploring the night scene of Valletta. Check out Strait Street, the hub of nightlife in the city, for a drink or a bite to eat.
Day 5: Visiting the Hypogeum
Visit the Hypogeum - an underground temple that belongs to the prehistoric period. The temple is a unique site that will leave you in awe, with its intricate carvings and mysterious aura. The Hypogeum is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known for its stunning acoustics.
Day 6: Relaxing by the Sea
Today, take a relaxing day by the sea. Head over to the beautiful Sliema promenade and rent a sunbed for the day. Walk along the promenade and explore the charming seaside town of Sliema. For the perfect Mediterranean sunset, take a boat ride to the Blue Lagoon on Comino Island, known for its crystal-clear waters.
Day 7: Food Tour of Valletta
End your trip on a high note with a food tour around Valletta. Try some of the local delicacies, such as pastizzi, a savory pastry filled with cheese or peas. Visit the Tal-Forn Bakery, famous for its traditional Maltese bread, and sample some of their freshly baked bread. End your trip on a sweet note, with a visit to the renowned Chocolatier.
