Day 1: Arrival and Relaxation
Welcome to Mexico City! Today, you will arrive at the Benito Juarez International Airport and check-in at your luxury hotel accommodation, Las Alcobas. After you’ve gotten settled and freshened up, you could enjoy a spa treatment to unwind from your journey. Later on, head out for an early evening stroll in the historic district of Polanco, where your hotel is located. Stroll down Masaryk Avenue, filled with high-end fashion stores, art galleries, and plenty of cafes and restaurants suited to your fine dining buds.
Day 2: Teotihuacán Pyramids and Archaeological Site Tour
Today is a perfect day to venture outside of the city limits to the Teotihuacán Pyramids, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Mexico City. You can take a guided tour on this fascinating and challenging hike, enjoying breathtaking views of Mexico City from the top of the Sun Pyramid. While in the area, you could even visit the Frida Kahlo Museum to learn about her life and art.
Day 3: Coyoacán Market and Xochimilco Cruise
If you are interested in some colors and Latin vibes, today is perfect! Our first stop is Coyoacán Market, which is located in one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods. This market appeals to both tourists and locals with its variety of handmade artisan crafts and delicious Mexican street food. Afterward, you can take a colorful, meandering boat ride through the canals of Xochimilco. You will witness brightly decorated boats called trajineras, which are similar to small gondolas, and enjoy traditional Mexican music, food and drinks, such as hibiscus tea and mezcal.
Day 4: Museum Hopping Day
Today we delve into Mexico City’s vast cultural heritage by visiting several of its most renowned museums, such as the National Anthropology Museum, the Palacio de Bellas Artes, and the Diego Rivera Studio Museum. These museums offer an awe-inspiring insight into the pre-Hispanic Mesoamerican civilizations and contemporary Mexican art.
Day 5: Day Trip to Puebla and Cholula
On this day, we offer a break from the bustling city and take you for a day trip to Puebla and Cholula, two charming and beautiful colonial towns in the state of Puebla situated about 2 hours outside Mexico City. In Puebla, we will visit the Puebla Cathedral and the Talavera Ceramics Factory, where you will see the art of making these hand-painted ceramic pottery products. After lunch in Puebla, we will drive to Cholula, where you will be amazed by the fusion of indigenous and Spanish colonial architecture as you visit its many churches and the breathtaking Great Pyramid of Cholula.
Day 6: Chapultepec Park and Castillo de Chapultepec
In the morning, head off to Chapultepec Park (one of the biggest parks in the world), located near the heart of Mexico City, where you can enjoy jogging or cycling on one of its several paths. Visit the National Museum of Anthropology, then head to the Castillo de Chapultepec, a beautiful castle full of history that sits at the top of the hill and offers one of the best panoramas of Mexico City.
Day 7: Shopping and Farewell Dinner
This is your last day in Mexico City, so spend your day shopping to your heart’s content before heading on a farewell dinner. You can visit the Barrio Alameda and Mercado de San Juan, known for their exotic flavors, a spread of local and international cuisine, spices, and foodie products. For your farewell dinner, head to the trendy and authentic Mexican restaurant, Quintonil, which was awarded 11th on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list in 2019, to top off a fantastic trip to Mexico City.
