Day 1: Exploring Tijuana
Start your trip by exploring Tijuana. Begin at the famous El Mercado Hidalgo, a bustling central market that offers a wide range of souvenirs, handicrafts, clothing, and food. From there, walk a few blocks to “La Catedral de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe”, the city’s most iconic structure. You can then visit the Tijuana Cultural Center (CECUT) which offers interactive exhibits on Mexican history, culture and technology. Finish off the day dining at one of the many authentic Mexican restaurants in town such as “Las Brisas Restaurant” and enjoy a refreshing margarita.
Day 2: Visit the Tijuana Beaches
Take some time off to enjoy the beaches of Tijuana. A favorite spot of locals and visitors alike is Playa del Sol, where you can enjoy the sun, water sports and fine dining. Another option is Playas de Tijuana, a quieter beach that offers clear waters, sandy shores and great sunsets. In the evening, visit “El Callejón del Beso” along Revolución Street and experience the romantic folklore of this alley that is legend between lovers.
Day 3: Wine Tasting Tour in Valle de Guadalupe
Today, you’ll be heading south to experience one of the best wine tasting trips in the world in Valle de Guadalupe. Start with a visit to L.A. Cetto, one of the oldest and most renowned wineries, where you can taste exquisite Mexican wines. From there, you can visit the “Sol de Media Noche” winery for a unique wine tasting experience with a knowledgeable guide leading the way through the estate. The Valle de Guadalupe is known for its scenic landscape and a variety of wine tasting experiences that include upscale restaurants, boutique hotels and tasting rooms. Finish the day dining at one of the many wineries such as “Deckman’s en El Mogor”, for some excellent cuisine and wine.
Day 4: Visit the Wax Museum and Brewery
Start the day by visiting the Tijuana Wax Museum near the Zona Centro for an up-close look at the wax figures of the biggest stars in Mexico and the world. Continue to the nearby brewery of “Tijuana Brewery” where you can take a tour of their state-of-the-art facilities and and learn about the history of beer in Tijuana. After the tour, you can grab a pint of locally-brewed beer at the on-site taproom.
Day 5: Visit Rosarito Beach
Head south of Tijuana to Rosarito Beach, a scenic seaside resort that boasts some of the best beaches on the Pacific Coast. Spend the day sunbathing, taking a walk along the beach boardwalk, and trying some of the best seafood dishes available in the Baja California region. Engage in some hiking and birdwatching for a change of pace in the town of Primo Tapia that is located a bit further south from Rosarito beach.
Day 6: Shopping
Today, focus on shopping at Avenida Revolución, a lively street filled with shops offering Mexican handicrafts, clothing items and souvenirs. A must-see attraction on this street is the legendary Caesar’s Restaurant where the famous Caesar Salad was invented over ninety years ago. After indulging in the genuine taste of Caesar Salad, continue shopping at the various stores that offer everything from leather goods to jewelry and pottery.
Day 7: Return Home
Today, head back to the airport for your flight home. It’s suggested to get to the airport three hours before your flight to ensure enough time to go through customs and security checks.
