Day 1: Arrival and Check-In
Arrive in Bălți and check into your pre-booked hotel. Take some time to relax and unwind after your journey and explore the nearby surroundings if you wish. Bălți is known for its industrial heritage and is home to several factories. The city has some interesting museums and a beautiful botanical garden which you can discover on foot.
Day 2: Walking Tour of Bălți
Take a walking tour of the city and explore its rich history and architecture. Bălți’s city centre is well-preserved, so don’t miss a chance to see some of the city’s most iconic landmarks and historical monuments. Start at the city’s central square and head to the old market area to see traditional Moldovan handicrafts and food products. Along the way, you’ll discover the beautiful architecture and houses from the beginning of the 20th century.
Day 3: Visit to the Orheuil Vechi Monastery
Take a day trip to the Orheiul Vechi Monastery, which is a preserved historical complex that dates back over 2,000 years. Here you’ll find an impressive monastery complex which has been hewn into the cliffs over the Răut River. Inside the monastery compound, you’ll also find a museum showcasing the 19th-century Moldovan lifestyle, as well as frescoes in the chapel. End your day with a relaxing lunch overlooking the picturesque natural landscapes.
Day 4: Wine Tasting at Wineries
Bălți is known for its excellent wines, so you can’t leave without tasting and exploring the wineries. Visit the Purcari Winery, one of Moldova’s oldest and most famous wineries, or the Mezalimpe Winery, a well-known family business with over 25 years of experience in the production of wines. Take part in a guided wine tasting and tour to learn about the wine-making process.
Day 5: Shopping and Culture in Bălți
There is plenty of shopping in Bălți. The Central Market is worth a visit to experience the lively atmosphere and a great place to pick up some souvenirs. The city centre has a number of boutiques selling handmade crafts and printed textiles. For culture lovers, you could also visit the Nikolaevskaia church, dating back to the 19th century, this church has a unique architecture that combines different styles.
Day 6: Day trip to Chisinau
Take a day trip to Chisinau, the capital city of Moldova which is known for its fascinating mix of Soviet, Romanian, and European architecture. Visit the National Museum of History of Moldova and take a walk through the central districts like Stefan cel mare si Sfant Boulevard and the Arc de Triomphe. End your day with a night out in Chisinau’s popular Old Town, which is home to some of the best bars and restaurants in the city.
Day 7: Departure
After breakfast, we’ll transfer you to the airport for your flight back home.
