Trip to Herceg Novi, Montenegro

Day 1: Arrival and Exploring the City Center

Upon arrival to Herceg Novi, drop your bags off at your lodgings and take some time to explore the city center of Herceg Novi. The city is known for its blend of Mediterranean influences, with a long and colorful history evident in the many buildings stretching along the Old Town. Amongst the main sights that you shouldn’t miss are the ramparts of the Kanli Kula Fortress, the Clock Tower and the Monastery savina alongside the winding streets. In the evening, you could also hit some bars and enjoy the local nightlife.

Day 2: Day trip to Kotor and Budva

Today, take a day trip to Kotor, a city surrounded by mountains and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the city with a meandering walk through the maze of labyrinthine streets of the old town, enjoy the Mediterranean cuisine and soak in the stunning views of the Boka Kotorska Bay. After lunch, continue to Budva, known for its gorgeous beaches, historical buildings and buzzing nightlife. Make sure to take a walk along the famous Perast Promenade for spectacular sunset views.

Day 3: Relaxing on the Beach

Take a well-deserved break from the sightseeing and head to the beach to relax and recharge by soaking up the sun. Montenegro is known for its beautiful beaches and crystal-clear sea so why not take advantage and enjoy a swim in the waters of Zanjice Beach. You could also take a stroll to the sandy beach of Mirista which is blessed with a spectacular view of the open Adriatic.

Day 4: Hiking in Lovćen National Park

Today, take a break from the sea and explore the stunning landscape of Lovćen National Park, located just a short distance from Herceg Novi. The park consists of dense forests, mountain huts and ancient shrines, alongside breathtaking views. Make sure to take a hike up Mount Lovćen to enjoy stunning panoramic views of the surrounding country side. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and pack some snacks and drinks for breaks along the way.

Day 5: Wine Tasting in Rondovi

Today, embark on a trip to Rondovi, a picturesque village famous for producing some of Montenegro’s best wines. Take a leisurely stroll through the vineyards, enjoy the beautiful scenery and opt for a wine tasting session in one of the family-run wineries that dot the village.

Day 6: Biking along Lustica Peninsula

This morning hit the road and bike your way around the Lustica Peninsula, enjoying the stunning views of the Bay of Kotor. Make sure to pack a picnic lunch so you can stop to enjoy some of the hidden beaches and coves as you go. A favourite pit stop is the Blue Cave – a natural wonder filled with crystal-clear turquoise waters.

Day 7: Departure

As your trip comes to an end, take some time to reflect on the amazing people, beautiful sights and delicious food of Montenegro. If time allows before your departure, take some time for last-minute souvenirs and to bid the city and its friendly locals farewell.
