Day 1: Arrival in Kumanovo

Welcome to Kumanovo, North Macedonia! On arrival at the airport, you will be met by a transfer driver who will take you to your hotel. Take the rest of the day to explore the area around your hotel, relax and get a good night’s sleep, as you’ll have an exciting week ahead of you.

Day 2: Visit Marko’s Tower

After breakfast, head out to Marko’s Tower, which is located near the city center, at the foothills of the Kumanovo mountains. This was once an important part of the Kumanovo Fortress and is a great example of medieval architecture. The tower was built in the 13th century and is 30 meters high, providing stunning views of the old city of Kumanovo. It’s definitely worth bringing your camera to capture the city from above.

Day 3: Explore Kokino Observatory and St. George Church

Today, you’ll head to the Kokino Observary, which is a Bronze Age archaeological site with an ancient observatory. It has a great significance in the study of astronomy and archaeology, and the view from the site is also worth making the trip. You can also visit St. George Church, which is one of the most important churches in Kumanovo. The church is over 150 years old and attracts visitors throughout the year, who come to see its magnificent architecture and learn about the history of the city.

Day 4: Biking to Kuklica and Restaurant Papi

Today, you’ll rent some bikes and ride to Kuklica, a unique rock formation just a few kilometres from Kumanovo. Known as the Stone Dolls, these formations are monolithic figures that are more than 10 million years old and are a natural wonder. After a good workout, head back to Kumanovo and enjoy dinner at Restaurant Papi, an upscale restaurant that combines Macedonian and Mediterranean cuisine for a unique dining experience.

Day 5: Visit the Museum of Kumanovo

Today, you’ll visit the Museum of Kumanovo, which has exhibitions on the history of the city and the surrounding area. You can learn about the city’s battle with the Ottoman Empire in 1912, and the importance of the city during the First Balkan War. After the museum, you can visit the old bazaar of Kumanovo, which has remained unchanged for over a century.

Day 6: Visit Skopje

Skopje is the capital city of North Macedonia, and it is only a short drive away from Kumanovo. You can visit the Old Bazaar, the Fortress of Skopje, and Alexander the Great Square. The city has a lively nightlife, so you might want to stay out late and enjoy some drinks before you head back to Kumanovo.

Day 7: Departure

After breakfast, take the day to relax before catching your flight back home.
