Day 1: Arrival and Introduction

Arrive in Bergen and check into your hotel. Take some time to explore the city’s immediate surroundings by going for a walk around the charming cobbled streets of Bryggen. Bryggen Wharf is a UNESCO World Heritage site and home to a series of colourful Hanseatic commercial buildings. The buildings date back to the 18th century and are a marvel to behold.

Day 2: Explore Bergen City

On this day, you should head out to explore Bergen City. Visit Troldhaugen (the home of composer Edvard Grieg) located at Hop which is roughly 10-15 minutes from the city center. Furthermore, head over to Bergenhus Fortress, located in the heart of Bergen. Built around 1240 is a Fortification dating back to the Middle Ages, it has great architecture and provides an excellent viewpoint.

Day 3: Visit the Hardangerfjord & Vøringsfossen Waterfall

On this day, you will take a scenic day trip to the Hardangerfjord & Vøringsfossen Waterfall. The Hardangerfjord is known for its amazing natural beauty and is home to many fruit orchards. While there, explore the beautiful landscapes, go hiking and take a sightseeing tour of the area. Then head over to Vøringsfossen, one of the most amazing waterfalls in Norway.

Day 4: Explore Bergen Museums

This day is dedicated to exploring Bergen’s museums and galleries. Morgedalsspelet offers an exciting experience on outdoor life during summer. You could also visit the KODE art galleries, where you can see extensive collections of works by famous Norwegian artists such as Edvard Munch, Harald Sohlberg and Nikolai Astrup.

Day 5: Visit the Fantoft Stave Church

On this day, visit the Fantoft Stave Church. The church is a restored 12th-century wooden building that embodies the heart of Norway’s cultural and historical traditions. The church has a unique Gothic shape with tall ceilings that give it an antique feel. The surrounding trees and landscapes are also a sight to behold.

Day 6: Shop at the Bergen Fish Market

On this day, you should visit the Bergen Fish Market. It’s the heart of the city and the most famous open-air marketplaces in Norway. It occupies an area of more than 7000 square meters and has vendors selling a variety of locally caught seafood, fresh fruits, and vegetables. You can also shop for jewelry, cheese, and souvenirs in the market.

Day 7: Explore Bryggen and Bergen’s Nightlife

On the last day of your trip, take a stroll to Bryggen and explore the beautiful buildings and surrounding waterfront. In the evening, head downtown, where you can explore Bergen’s nightlife — including local bars, restaurants, and music. Visit famous nightlife spots like the Magic Ice Bar, Fjellskål Skybar and Piano Bar at Grand Hotel Terminus as well.
