Day 1: Arrival and Relaxation

Welcome to Arequipa, Peru! On your first day, you’ll arrive at the airport and be transported to your hotel in the city center. The remainder of the day is yours to relax and unwind, maybe enjoy some local cuisine or explore the city.

Day 2: City Tour and Shopping

In the morning, you’ll go on a city tour that will take you to the most iconic landmarks in Arequipa, such as Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral of Arequipa, and the Monastery of Santa Catalina. After the tour, you’ll be free to discover some of the city’s best shopping spots. You can take a stroll down Mercado San Camilo and check out the handmade textiles, jewelry, and other local specialties on offer.

Day 3: Colca Canyon and Hot Springs

On this day, you’ll venture out of Arequipa and embark on a tour of the magnificent Colca Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in the world. The tour will take you through quaint traditional villages, and you’ll be able to see the majestic Andean condors soaring in the sky. After the tour, you can relax and unwind at the thermal hot springs.

Day 4: Volcano Climbing

This day will be for adventure! You’ll have the opportunity to climb one of the three famous volcanoes around Arequipa: Misti, Chachani, or Pichu Pichu. These hikes are challenging, but the views from the top of the volcanoes make it worth it. The volcanoes offer some of the most unique views of the city and are truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Day 5: Museums and Cathedrals

Today, you’ll visit some of the museums and cathedrals in the city to learn about the rich history of Arequipa. The Museum of Andean Sanctuaries is a must-visit, featuring an exhibition showcasing the Ice Maiden of Ampato, a mummy discovered atop the Ampato volcano. Then, explore the Santa Teresa Monastery, one of Arequipa’s most important colonial buildings, which is a fusion of Spanish and Moorish styles.

Day 6: Zona Rosa Nightlife

On this penultimate day, experience the nightlife of Arequipa by visiting the Zona Rosa, also known as Calle San Francisco. This is where you’ll find a variety of bars and nightclubs offering live music, DJs, and dancing into the early hours of the morning. You can also indulge in some local drinks such as pisco sours, and enjoy the energetic ambiance and charm of the local nightlife.

Day 7: Departure

It’s time to say goodbye to the wonderful city of Arequipa. On this final day, you’ll check out of your hotel and be transported to the airport for your return flight. Don’t forget to take some souvenirs with you, so that you can remember the beautiful city and all your experiences there for years to come.
