Trip to Zamboanga City, Philippines

Day 1: Arrival and Checking-in to the Hotel

Upon arrival at the Zamboanga City International Airport, you’ll check into your hotel, and take some time to rest and relax after your travels. In the afternoon, you can wander around the city’s commercial district and experience the local shopping malls. Head to KCC Mall de Zamboanga, where you can find everything from designer bags to affordable fashion items. End the day with a sumptuous dinner at Alavar Seafood Restaurant, which is known for its exquisite curacha (crab).

Day 2: Discovering the Wonders of Little Sta. Cruz Island

Today, you’ll head to Little Sta. Cruz Island with its crystal-clear waters and white sand beaches. Famous for its pink sand, Little Sta. Cruz has a variety of amazing flora and fauna for you to explore. It’s a protected area so it’s best to book a visit through a tour operator, which can arrange your transportation and permits. It’s worth it, though. Spend the day snorkelling in the clear waters, relaxing on the white sandy beach or exploring the island’s forests.

After breakfast, head towards Talon Talon’s Jama Mosque, one of the most important places of worship in the Zamboanga Peninsula. From here, make your way to the 17th-century Fort Pilar Shrine and Museum. After visiting Fort Pilar, stroll south along Calle Crisologo to visit the Yakan Weaving Village, and enjoy local fabrics and handicrafts. In the evening, enjoy the local cuisine at the night market on Don Alfaro Street.

Day 4: Visit to the Provincial Capitol Complex and La Vista del Mar Beach Resort

Spend the day at the Provincial Capitol Complex and enjoy the beautifully landscaped grounds and architecture. Afterward, you can head to La Vista del Mar Beach Resort for some sun and fun on one of the top-rated beaches in Zamboanga City. Enjoy kayaking and other water sports before heading back to the city for dinner.

Day 5: La Paz Sandbar and Mangrove Forest

Head to La Paz via the town of Sibuco to enjoy lunch and explore the stunning sandbar at La Paz Beach. Cool off in the inviting blue water before exploring the mangrove forest via paddleboat or canoe.

Day 6: Pasonanca Natural Park and Zamboanga City Hall

After breakfast, visit the Pasonanca Natural Park which boasts lush greenery, picturesque waterfalls and natural swimming pools. This is a great place for hiking, picnicking, and cooling off in the rivers. After the park, head over to the Zamboanga City Hall, a government building with Spanish-style architecture that’s well-known for its charming clock tower.

Day 7: Visit the Merloquet Falls and Departure

On your final day in Zamboanga City, visit the Merloquet Falls which has a beautiful cascade, deep pool, and surrounding greenery. Take your time admiring the stunning natural beauty before you head to the airport for your departure flight home or your next destination.
