Poznań, one of the oldest cities in Poland, is famous for its rich history, beautiful architecture, and great food. With this itinerary, you will get to experience all that and more, including sightseeing, shopping, and nightlife.
Day 1: Arrival and City Tour
Upon arrival at Poznań Airport, check into your hotel and relax for a bit before heading out for a guided city tour. From Old Market Square to the Gothic-style St. Peter and Paul’s Cathedral, Poznań has a lot of breathtaking architecture to offer. You will also be able to see the charming townhouses, the renaissance-style town hall and enjoy beautiful views of the Warta River. As you walk around the city, make sure to stop by a pierogi restaurant and taste some of the city’s delicious traditional dumplings.
Day 2: Shopping Day
Poznań is a great place to shop! Start your day by visiting the Stary Browar Shopping Centre. Besides being one of Poznań’s favourite shopping destinations, Stary Browar also serves as a cultural centre, with regular exhibitions, theatre performances, and concerts. After shopping at the centre, make your way to the Poznań City Center. Here you will find a variety of shops, restaurants and cafes. Don’t forget to visit the famous Poznań Croissant Museum, where you can learn about the history of the local specialty, Saint Martin Croissants.
Day 3: Day trip to Gniezno
Take a day trip to Gniezno, the old capital of Poland and the birthplace of the country’s first Christian King. Visit the Gniezno Cathedral, one of the oldest and most important gothic churches in Poland, and the Gniezno Archdiocese Museum, which houses a collection of precious religious art and historical artefacts.
Day 4: Poznań Zoo
Spend your fourth day exploring Poznań Zoo. This unique and award-winning zoo is home to over 2,000 animals from all over the world, including rare and endangered species. The zoo also features several interactive exhibits and a petting zoo, making it a perfect choice for families and animal lovers alike.
Day 5: Nightlife in Poznań
Poznań has an exciting nightlife scene with a variety of bars and clubs to choose from. Start by having a drink at Brovaria, a brewery and restaurant that serves delicious craft beer. From there, head to a club or bar that suits your style. SQ club is a great place for electro and techno fans, whereas U Bazyla offers live rock music. Shadow Lounge, on the other hand, is a good choice for a sophisticated evening with cocktails and lounge music.
Day 6: Citadel Park
Spend the day at the Citadel Park in Poznań. The park is great for walking, cycling, and picnicking. You can also admire the beautiful old fortress buildings, the Palm House, and the Military Museum.
